An absolute monster of an addition to the running back room occurred for Michigan on Tuesday.

Top 100 Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller bruiser Jordan Marshall announced his verbal commitment to the Wolverines following his fourth unofficial visit in Ann Arbor this past weekend.

“I love Michigan,” Marshall told The Wolverine. “Academically, they’re amazing. That’s a big part of what I’m looking for. Then, obviously, me and coach Hart are really close. He’s my guy. We’re pretty much the same person, like, it’s crazy. So it’s just really special knowing the connection that we have. Plus, they run that ball.”

Marshall chose Michigan over Ohio State, Tennessee and Wisconsin. All four schools landed in the 5-foot-11 and 195-pounder’s top four list that was released back in early February. His relationship with running backs coach Mike Hart helped push the Wolverines on top, as well as their pledge to running the ball.

“It’s cool, especially when Michigan could be considered the new RBU,” Marshall told The Wolverine. “They’re producing a lot of great backs. Blake (Corum) is a really high-profile type of guy. Just watching him and how he processes things, I can tell that how he moves, cuts off defenders, and pushes them off. Since watching him, I’ve learned to stay patient. Blake is really patient back there and doesn’t go right away. That’s something I’ve tried to perfect a lot. It’s a skill that I want to get better at. Being patient on outside schemes and zone schemes. That’s something that I’ve seen do really well and something that I can work on.”

Marshall is ranked as the No. 79 overall recruit in the country, No. six running back nationally, and No. 3 rising junior in the state of Ohio, according to the On3.com

Marshall has an On3 NIL Valuation of $112K with 6.5K followers across Twitter and Instagram. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Rounding out the eight commits in Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class are On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, consensus four-star Avon (Ohio) High interior offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier defensive lineman Ted Hammond, three-star Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive lineman Manuel Beigel and three-star South Park (Pa.) High linebacker Zach Ludwig.
