Enow Etta is sticking with Michigan.

The On300 EDGE out of Colleyville (Texas) Covenant has been committed to the Wolverines since the summer but took visits to Oklahoma and TCU this fall. He also attracted interest from LSU and Miami.

However, Etta signed his National Letter of Intent with Michigan on Wednesday.

It’s been really crazy,” Etta said. “Some schools are going to recruit you until the pen hits the paper. I just let them know where my heart is at and what I plan to do. It feels good to be wanted by schools, but it gets to the point where they are bothering you… there hasn’t been a school that has been able to offer me more than Michigan.”

So why did Etta stay firm with his original pledge?

“I just feel like if you look at what they do with defensive lineman, the biggest thing for me was development,” Etta said. “There are schools that get way more five-stars and higher rated prospect. But Coach (Jim) Harbaugh told me they aren’t going to chase stars. They are going to chase guys that fit their system. That’s evident the last two years with the success we’ve had. I feel like we’re building something special.

“On the education side, the degree. Not many schools can match that. I just feel like the opportunity for my future, there aren’t a lot of places that offer more than Michigan.”

At 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, Etta is ranked as the No. 13 defensive lineman and No. 119 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Consensus. He is also ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect in the state of Texas.

Etta has an On3 NIL Valuation of $123K with 6,800 combined followers on Instagram and Twitter. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Michigan now has 21 commits in its 2023 recruiting class — On300 offensive lineman Nathan Efobi, On300 offensive tackle Evan Link, On300 EDGE Enow Etta, consensus four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring, four-star running back Cole Cabana, four-star linebacker Semaj Bridgeman, four-star tight end Deakon Tonielli, three-star wide receivers Semaj Morgan and Fredrick Moore, three-star defensive linemen Brooks Bahr and Roderick Pierce, three-star running back Benjamin Hall, three-star EDGE Aymeric Koumba, three-star tight end Zack Marshall, three-star athletes Kendrick Bell, Breeon Ishmail and Jason Hewlett, three-star defensive backs Cameron Calhoun and D’Juan Waller, three-star linebacker Hayden Moore and three-star kicker Adam Samaha.
