The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was in Myrtle Beach over the weekend and saw three-star Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day wide receiver and top Michigan target Channing Goodwin in action at the annual NLG 7v7 tournament.

Goodwin had an outstanding performance on the final day of the event and led his G7 team on a deep run in bracket play.

Watch full clips below.

Goodwin, who is the son of former U-M offensive lineman Jonathan Goodwin, attended multiple Michigan games this fall and is expected to make a return trip this offseason.

“My dad has told me that Michigan was a great place for him when he was coming up,” Goodwin said. “He told me it was the perfect spot for him to land and that it changed his life. It would be cool to go there. Michigan fans would love another Goodwin there. It would be special.”

Along with Michigan, Goodwin holds offers from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and others.

At 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Goodwin is ranked as the No. 62 wide receiver and No. 404 overall prospect in the country. He is also ranked as the No. 11 overall recruit in the state of North Carolina, per the On3 Consensus.

Goodwin has an On3 NIL Valuation of $22K with 4.7K followers across all platforms. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Michigan has seven commits in its 2024 recruiting class — On300 Harper Woods (Mich.) High defensive back Jacob Oden, On300 Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth linebacker Mason Curtis, On300 Avon (Ohio) High offensive lineman Luke Hamilton, Consensus four-star Bellevue (Wash.) High tight end Hogan Hansen, Consensus four-star Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier defensive lineman Ted Hammond, three-star Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary Hall defensive lineman Manuel Beigel and rising South Park (Pa.) High linebacker Zach Ludwig.

The class is currently ranked No. 13 nationally in the On3 Consensus rankings and No. 3 in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Michigan State.
