The Wolverine's Ej Holland Breaks Down The 5 Highest-rated Recruits Sherrone Moore Has Seen As Hc

Sherrone Moore hit the recruiting trail as the new head coach at Michigan during the final week of the contact period and made stops across the country.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland breaks down the five highest rated 2025 prospects Moore saw in the video above, including five-star Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day offensive tackle David Sanders.

Sanders Recruitment

Michigan was the first school to extend an offer to Sanders, who has blossomed into one of the country’s top overall prospects in the 2025 recruiting class.

Sanders made his first visit to Michigan this summer for the annual BBQ at The Big House event and enjoyed his time on campus. Michigan offensive line coach Sherrone Moore stopped by Providence Day to see Sanders this month and is continuing to push.

So where do the Wolverines stand?

Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment:

“Obviously, there are a lot of ties here. He’s teammates with 2024 signees Channing Goodwin and Jadyn Davis,” Hollan said. “He plays along the offensive line for ex-Wolverines Jonathan Goodwin, who is the offensive line coach at Providence Day. He’s was at the BBQ at The Big House, so he’s been on campus. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to make it back in the fall. Sherrone Moore has a lot to pitch. The recent Joe Moore Awards and development along the offensive line has to be impressive to Sanders. But at the end of the day, I think he wants to stay south.”

Along with Michigan, Sanders has offers in hand from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, USC and a number of other major programs.

At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Sanders is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 2 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the state of North Carolina for next cycle.

Michigan has three verbal commitments in the 2025 recruiting class – On300 Ft. Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith, four-star Howell (Mich.) High defensive lineman Bobby Kanka, and three-star Alcoa (Tenn.) High tight end Eli Owens.
