COLUMBUS — Ohio State coach Ryan Day has been an awfully busy man in the last few days.

Day has traveled all across Ohio and parts of Indiana over the course of two days, capped off with another in-home visit. Four-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Lakota East offensive lineman Austin Siereveld and his family welcomed Day on Friday.

Siereveld is the No. 14 rated interior offensive lineman and the No. 192 overall prospect in the 2023 cycle according to On3.

He committed to Ohio State on May 4 and was the third offensive lineman to commit to the Buckeyes. Josh Padilla, Luke Montgomery and Miles Walker all are also in the class.

He was always a massive in-state target for the Buckeyes, but the program still had to do its due diligence in recruiting him.

“The brotherhood that’s up there and everyone connected as a family [is why I committed],” Siereveld told Lettermen Row. “It’s just one big family. It’s awesome because the whole community around me will not only support Ohio State but support me as well.”

Siereveld is anticipated on early enrolling and is a great piece in offensive line coach Justin Frye’s first class at Ohio State.

He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 320-pounds and while he’s scouted as an interior offensive lineman, at that size he could move to the outside.

Regardless, he’s an important piece to the Buckeyes growing 2023 class.

Austin Siereveld Scouting Report

Light-footed mauler who excels as a drive blocker. One of the heavier top interior offensive linemen in the 2022 cycle, checking in at 6-foot-5 and over 320 pounds prior to his senior season. Moves very well at his size, turning in an impressive 4.74 second short shuttle time. Transfers those movement skills over to the field where he is a grinding run blocker who dominates opposing defensive linemen at the point of attack. Fires off the ball and plays with very good pad level. Gets underneath the pads of defensive linemen and generates a considerable push. Often finishes blocks with emphasis. Doubles as a basketball player and shows off his footwork in moving to the second level. Does not have high-end length. Will need to continue watching his weight as he’s already at or around an ideal playing weight. A well-rounded interior offensive line prospect who projects as an offensive guard at the college level.
