COLUMBUS — It’s never too early to start thinking about camp season and Ohio State is helping us get there.

The Buckeyes announced their summer recruiting camp schedule on ‘X’ and there is plenty of reason to expect talent from all over the state and the country to head to campus.

Ohio State will put on five, one-day camps starting Wednesday, June 5. In years past, the Buckeyes have split up the sessions by position groups creating one long day, but last summer all position groups camped together. As of now, that remains to be the same heading into this summer.

The other dates for the one-day camp schedule include June 6, June 11, June 13 and June 17. Ohio State also hosts its annual high school 7-on-7 tournament. Last summer spectators were treated to quite a good matchup with Bellefontaine and Findlay competing against one another — an opportunity to watch Tavien St. Clair and Ryan Montgomery go head-to-head.

2024, 2024 class camp favorites

Ohio State had plenty of its 2024 class camp last summer including wide receiver Mylan Graham, offensive tackle Ian Moore and linebacker Garrett Stover.

But six of the eight committed Buckeyes in the 2025 class camped at Ohio State last summer. St. Clair camped multiple times and participated in the 7v7 tournament.

Three-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban linebacker Eli Lee attended camp toward the end of the schedule and worked closely with graduate assistant James Laurinaitis. Lee camped the same day as four-star Port St. Lucie (Fla) Vero Beach linebacker TJ Alford.

Four-star Philadelphia (Pa) Imhotep Institue EDGE Zahir Mathis camped with the Buckeyes last summer and following his workout, called defensive line coach Larry Johnson a legend. Mathis committed to Ohio State in January.

Along with Ian Moore, four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe camped with the Buckeyes last summer. It was at that camp that the Buckeyes started to separate themselves from the other contenders in Lowe’s recruitment.

Four-star Cocoa (Fla) wide receiver Jayvan Boggs was on campus as well in the summer for a workout.

Perhaps the biggest camper last summer was five-star Houston (Texas) North Shore cornerback Devin Sanchez. The No. 2 cornerback per On3 worked out with cornerbacks coach Tim Walton both in a group setting and then in a private workout on the indoor field at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Several 2025 targets also camped with the Buckeyes last summer including TJ Alford, Dorian Brew, Jordon Davison, Marquise Davis, Byron Louis, Avery Gach, Madden Faraimo, Trey McNutt and Jaime Ffrench.
