Five-Star EDGE Colin Simmons Sets Visits
Dan Lanning and staff have been diligently working on signing some of the top recruits in the country in 2024. One of those elite players the Ducks have been frequently linked to is Duncanville (Texas) EDGE Colin Simmons.
While the Ducks might not lead, they are certainly in the race. Simmons is the No. 3 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings and No. 1 ranked EDGE player. The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder has announced his visits for the Summer and the Ducks are on the list.
Keep in mind, Oregon has previously hosted Simmons on campus as recently as the end of April for its Spring game.

Here is his visit schedule as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Miami – June 8-11 (official visit)
Alabama – June 16-18 (official visit)
Oregon – June 20-22 (unofficial visit)
Texas – June 23-25 (official visit)
Texas A&M – July 26-28 (unofficial visit)
Florida – TBD
Currently LSU leads the On3 RPM with a 44% chance to land Simmons. The five-star was expected to visit Oregon on June 16 for an official visit already. This latest update suggest a new date and a change making it an unofficial visit.
On3 Scouting Report:
Long-limbed EDGE prospect who stars for one of the top high school programs in Texas. Measured at around 6-foot-2.5, 225 pounds with a 34-inch arm prior to his junior season. Grew around an inch as a sophomore. Primarily lines up at defensive end for Duncanville. Uses first-step quickness, play speed and dip to create issues for opposing offensive tackles. Shows good curvilinear movement with his ability to turn corners as a pass rusher. Length aids in disengaging from offensive linemen, finishing plays and disrupting passing lanes. Looks to play with a good effort level. Plays against top competition and made an impact on a defensive front that featured older, Power 5 prospects.
