Oregon DB Commit Visiting Huskies

It’s coming down to the wire which makes it a very stressful time in recruiting. The early signing day is just a few weeks out and coaches are set to begin making ‘house calls’ on top commits and recruits. (That’s code for in-home visits)

A rivalry remains with the Ducks and Huskies and that spills into recruiting. The Ducks pulled an early commitment from Rainier Beach (Wash.) defensive back Caleb Presley back in early July. For the most part Presley has been rock solid in his pledge with the Ducks.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder however did announce he will take an official visit to Washington this coming weekend.

This should not come as a major surprise to Duck fans as there have been some chatter about this the last few weeks. The Huskies had a good season which has helped in their recruitment of Presley late in the cycle.

Presley has not used his official visit to Oregon yet and is expected on campus prior to the early signing period. Likely giving Oregon the last chance to hold on to him.

On3 ranks Presley as the No. 237 ranked player nationally with his consensus ranking higher at No. 135 overall.

Prior to this announcement, ScoopDuck had a full update on Presley and where Oregon stands ahead of this visit. Duck fans would be wise to check it out to get a better sense of where things stand.

“Up next on ‘Flip Watch’ is the surprise, but not all that surprising visit of cornerback commit Caleb Presley to Washington. Oregon knew of it and is still feeling….”

On3 Scouting Summary:

Two-way player that possesses natural ball skills at receiver and corner, while projecting on defense long-term. Smooth mover that has the ability to stick his foot in the ground and break on the ball with ease. Technical corner that has fluid movement skills. Looks comfortable and patient in coverage and does not play out of control. Has good length, with a 6-foot-4 wing-span at around 6-feet in height. Long speed appears strong but not elite. Ran an electronically-timed 4.62 40 in 2020 as a freshman. Shows more twitch and wiggle than long speed as a return man for kickoff and punt. Need to see him add some mass to a leaner athletic frame in order to reach his max potential at the next level.
