South Carolina football commitment Trovon Baugh officially received his Under Armour All-America game jersey on Friday during a ceremony honoring the four-star offensive lineman at his school.

Baugh, an On3Consensus four-star OL from Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy, committed to the Gamecocks in late May, helping kick off an impressive recruiting run that vaulted the Gamecocks’ 2023 class into the Top 25 in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

“The energy around there is consistent,” Baugh said of the Gamecocks at the time of his commitment. “At some programs, you may get some fake energy. From day one until now, the staff checks up on me when I take tests. Coach (Shane) Beamer does an amazing job with the team over there. The future is great. The energy at practice all the way to lunch is booming. That’s one word coach Beamer likes to say; booming. I say we can get Columbia back booming and bring a national championship.”

Baugh chose the Gamecocks over offers from programs like North Carolina, Florida State, Auburn, LSU, N.C. State, Arkansas, Miami, Tennessee, and many others.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder is ranked the No. 339 overall prospect and No. 23 interior offensive lineman in the class in the On3Consensus, which averages the four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s analysts are even higher on Baugh, ranking him the No. 211 overall prospect in the country and No. 16 IOL.

Gamecock Central caught up with On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power this summer for details on why On3 is so high on Baugh.

“I think the first thing that stands out with Trovon Baugh is just the physical dimensions,” Power said. “There’s not a lot to project from a size perspective with him, he’s already around 6-foot-4, 6-foot-3.5, 310 pounds. So he’s pretty close to, what his playing size will be in college. But he’s got a big frame, you kind of look at his length, he’s got a 6-foot-10 wingspan, he’s got a big hand, like a 10-inch hand. So he’s just a big-framed, kind of wide-hipped offensive lineman, who carries a lot of weight in his lower body, he’s got a strong base, and you can kind of see that on Friday nights when he gets on the field.”

The Gamecocks’ 2023 class is ranked the No. 17 class in the country in the 2023 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
