Sumter (S.C.) class of 2025 EDGE Anthony Addison is the latest South Carolina target to set a summer official visit with the Gamecocks.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder posted on Twitter/X Wednesday night that he’s scheduled to visit South Carolina on the June 21 weekend, the third of three big summer recruiting weekends in Columbia.

Addison landed an offer from South Carolina in November and was last on campus for a junior day earleir this year.

“I was excited. And it was an in-person offer. In-person offers are always the best because you never know they were coming,” Addison told GamecockCentral shortly after landing the offer. “I didn’t expect him to offer me because every other visit, I go up there expecting it. But this time I really just went up there to watch the game because it’s Clemson versus South Carolina, and I grew up watching it. So when he told me to come up, I was like, I was coming. I was planning on going anyway. And when he offered me, it was just like, wow, he really offered me. And they were about to play Clemson, so it was just amazing. And my brother was there, so we got to cherish the moment together. I wish I could go back to that moment.”

Addison is being recruited by South Carolina outside linebackers and EDGEs coach Sterling Lucas and he has a great relationship with the Gamecocks’ third-year coach.

Addison, who finished his junior campaign with 96 tackles, 6 sacks, 25 TFLs, a forced fumble, and a pick-six, also has offers from Tennessee, West Virginia, USF, Cincinnati, Duke, and Coastal Carolina, among others.

“In the big picture of things, I just want to go somewhere where they want me,” Addison said. “I mean, playing my first year or something, that’d be a blessing. But like, when you think about it, you got guys who’s already there. And plus, I know I’m going to have to put in the work to get there, but at the end of the day, if I could just be developed and make it to the bigger stage, that’s my main goal, going somewhere that I’d be able to do that.”

While he hasn’t confirmed a date yet, Addison also recently told On3 that he plans an official visit to Tennessee.
