Nothing says college football rivalry like going to the class play and getting heckled by a 5-year-old

Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County running back and South Carolina commit Matthew Fuller has made yet another huge leap in On3‘s latest round of rankings updates.

The 6-foot, 210-pounder has long been an On3 outlier, a prospect the site is higher on than others.

The former three-star prospect moved into the On300 and officially became a four-star prospect in July when On3 deemed him the No. No. 283 overall prospect in the 2024 class.

After a more modest leap to No. 227 in his class, Fuller became the No. 140 overall prospect this week during the latest round of updates. He is also now the No. 11 running back in the country and the No. 18 prospect in Georgia, according to On3.

On3 national scout Cody Bellaire provided an updated scouting report on the long-time South Carolina commitment.

“Matthew Fuller is someone that we felt showed some promise at the end of last season,” Bellaire said. “His athletic ability combined with his natural running style and production as a junior was eye-popping. And after seeing him repeat that level of production and still maintain his athletic ability while gaining mass has shown that he has the physical and athletic tools to become a huge factor in the run game at the next level and should be able to make a seamless transition to college football early on in his college career.”

Fuller finished his senior season with 2,086 yards (8.1 YPC) and 27 touchdowns on 256 carries. As a junior, he racked up 1,757 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns, averaging 6.8 yards per carry in the process.

The On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average of the four major recruiting rankings, considers Fuller the No. 484 overall prospect and the No. 40 running back in the class.

South Carolina football commit Josiah Thompson remains a five-star prospect in the On3 rankings and is the Gamecocks’ highest-rated commitment on the site.

The Dillon (S.C.) class of 2024 offensive tackle standout is now ranked the No. 8 overall prospect and No. 2 offensive tackle in the class.

The 6-foot-6, 275-pounder was previously ranked by On3 as the No. 9 overall prospect in his class.

Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy five-star EDGE and South Carolina commit Dylan Stewart is the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2024 On300. Stewart is the Gamecocks’ highest-ranked commitment in the On3 Industry Ranking.
