Blackshire was a critical component of the Alabama special teams during his three years in Tuscaloosa. He has 25 career tackles with 16 of them coming this past season. He also recorded one sack, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble for the Crimson Tide in 2023.

When not on special teams, Blackshire would see time as a reserve middle linebacker for the Alabama defense.

Blackshire recorded nine total tackles during his first two seasons at Alabama.

A product of Duncanville High School, Blackshire joins several fellow Panthers in Austin including offensive lineman Cam Williams and EDGE Colin Simmons. The Longhorns are after several Duncanville prospects in the 2025 and 2026 classes, notably five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore.

Blackshire joins Trey Moore and Andrew Mukuba as transfer portal additions to Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense during the 2024 transfer portal cycle. Transfer additions on offense include Matthew Golden, Silas Bolden, and Isaiah Bond.

A member of the 2021 class, Blackshire was ranked as the No. 193 overall prospect, the No. 24 linebacker, and the No. 32 player in Texas according from the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. Blackshire currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $155,000. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation establishes the overall NIL market and projected 12-month growth rate by measuring two categories, Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index.
