Four-star ATH Aeryn Hampton flips from Texas to Alabama

After two de-commitments during his recruiting process, 2024 Daingerfield (Texas) ATH Aeryn Hampton has now made it three. Hampton flipped from Texas to Alabama on early National Signing Day morning.

Hampton originally committed to Baylor before decommitting and choosing Texas. Then Hampton decommitted from Steve Sarkisian’s program before rejoining the Longhorns’ class.

Now, he’ll call Tuscaloosa home.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban made an in-home/school visit with Hampton recently at Daingerfield High.

The East Texas four-star made June official visits to Alabama and Texas prior to committing to the Longhorns July 7.

He was named 11-3A Co-MVP as a junior in 2022, a year after being named 10-3A Co-Utility Player of the Year as a sophomore.

Hampton is the No. 232 overall player, the No. 10 athlete, and the No. 41 player in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks Hampton as the No. 9 athlete and the No. 56 prospect in Texas.

Hampton is ranked as a four-star prospect by every service.

On3 PERSONAL LIFE

Aeryn Hampton did it all for Daingerfield (Texas) High School in 2022. He finished his junior season with 55 receptions for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also racked up 57 tackles, five tackles for loss, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. Hampton also excelled on special teams with 11 returns for 260 yards and a score. Those numbers helped him earn second-team all-state honors in 2022. Midway through his junior season, Hampton reportedly transferred to nearby Carthage High School. Hampton also runs track and plays basketball. His favorite musician is NBA YoungBoy. He plans on majoring in welding in college. His mother is Lisa Boyd.
