Tuesday Texas Q&A: Finally, SEC Play Begins With Texas at Florida

Exactly a month ago today, Texas played Ohio State in Columbus. Since then, the Horns have effectively held three scrimmages and a bye week that was only moderately less taxing than the previous game versus Sam Houston State.

Because of this uneven schedule, we still don’t truly know who this team is. I mean, the national media seems to think it knows. Rival fan bases certainly seem to know Texas was vastly overrated. Even some Texas fans are down and out on the Horns after offensive struggles during three of the first four games. But, nobody truly knows.

With SEC play beginning with Texas on the road to Gainesville this weekend, we’re finally going to get our second useful barometer of the 2025 Longhorns. If you’re one of the fans disappointed in Arch Manning and Texas, you have nothing on Florida fans and their disappointment in the Gators, DJ Lagway, and especially head coach Bill Napier.
