Witt was named to the first team. A product of Episcopal High School, Witt led Texas in appearances in 2021 often answering the first call out of the bullpen on Friday nights. He was 4-0 with a 3.06 ERA across 50 innings. He notched five saves and hitters managed a .199 average against him.

Nixon was named to the second team by the publication. Originally from McAllen High School, Nixon was 3-3 in 25 appearances with a 2.35 ERA and a team-high eight saves. He pitched 30.2 innings and opponents managed a .216 batting average against him.

The two join Pete Hansen as freshman All-Americans. Hansen was bestowed the honor by the NCBWA.
