Trojans vs. Spartans game notes
* USC and Michigan State are 4-4 in this series with the Spartans on a three-game winning streak. The teams have not played since the 1990 John Hancock Bowl. The last meeting in the Coliseum was a 30-9 USC win in 1978.
* This is Michigan State’s first road game of the season. The Spartans have not won a true road game west of Boulder, Colorado since 1957.
* The Spartans are dealing with some injury issues as standout wide receiver Nick Marsh and starting running back Makhi Frazier are less than 100% and could be game-time decisions heading into this game. Michigan State will be without starting offensive guard Luka Vincic and kickoff returner Alante Brown.
* USC will be without cornerback Chasen Johnson, who suffered a knee injury and will miss the rest of the season. Wide receiver Zacharyus Williams will also be sidelined for at least a few more weeks.
* Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles has completed 71.6% of his passes for 656 yards and six touchdowns against just one interception. He’s also the team’s second-leading rusher, with 30 carries for 123 yards and a score. He has at least one 19-yard run in each game this season, but has been sacked eight times.
* Nick Marsh is the Spartans’ best receiver but Omari Kelly is the No. 2 option. He has at least four receptions in each game so far and has 15 catches for 184 yards this year. Marsh leads the team in all receiving categories with 16 catches for 194 yards and three touhdowns.

* Linebacker Jordan Hall leads Michigan State with 27 tackles and two sacks.
