Having a point guard to set Coleman up would have helped him immensely. Why would he stay in an offensive system with no other shooters and slow pace?
He got paid and got in a better offensive system to showcase himself
Didn’t he just get popped for a DUI?
That was Pettiford in Auburn.
lol, it’s insane how badly basketball players lie about their height. Now it’s because they get “measured in their shoes”. I guess they wear heels.Wasn't he supposed to be 6'5" when he was at SHU? I guess all of the NIL money (gold) he got weighed him down so much he lost some height carrying it around!
So did our former coach once upon a time...Didn’t he just get popped for a DUI?
The teams exaggerate their height usually when they publish their roster - it's not the players.lol, it’s insane how badly basketball players lie about their height. Now it’s because they get “measured in their shoes”. I guess they wear heels.
Jordan Walker pro ball Lithuania 9 pts 5 assists last gameWait a minute….
this is a thread based on a player’s output for a scrimmage? For an essential single practice that doesn’t count?
This board loves to follow how ex players do on other teams and the start a thread on how we missed out.
We need another Anthony Nelson or Jordan Walker thread. How are they doing overseas?
IC did a bunch of things last season that drove me nuts. Little things and I attributed them to lack of focusPlaying on last year's team was likely worse than watching last year's team.
Can understand how a young man with options would be tempted to explore them.
I look at this from both sides. The question was asking price. Word leaked from decent sources that he wanted $1.5M. There was no way in hell the Pirates had that money to give when the ask was made.
We had to wait until the court case (never a given) was resolved before we had that kind of money. And then the question would have been do you really want to give that kind of money to a 6-3 wing?
Let's see him avg shooting percentage of 50 40 80 and see what he does against Iowa state before some here want to build him a statueThe question was asking price. In 2004 as a Louisville assistant. So did our former coach once upon a time...
PettyIn 2004 as a Louisville assistant.
Coleman is playing ball less than 2 months after a DUI arrest. Slap on the wrist I guess?
But what if last year soured him to the point where he just wanted out?People don’t realize how good he is…if you compare year by year he was better than Jared Rhoden in his first 2 years…by a wide margin. I would’ve given him a million. I think he’s that good.
Was actually sort of Delaware head coach when that happened. In 2004 as a Louisville assistant.
It probably did but If you throw someone a lot of money to stay and be the number one option…But what if last year soured him to the point where he just wanted out?
Really? Did he get Tim Welshed? Was actually sort of Delaware head coach when that happened.
I too have no ill will towards Isaiah. I do hope I need to go to the Ok St web site to get his stats over the season. His asking price was one he knew would never be matched and he settled for a lot less after he left. He wanted out after last season when by midseason he started to play selfishly and not for the team.
Hunted points and played no defense. You do not award a 6-3 wing with $1.5M for that.
I have no ill will towards him but I'm not rooting for him like I did for Richmond and Davis as I did last season.
,
Exactly.Really? Did he get Tim Welshed?
I don't know if I never knew that or just forgot it, but I guess either way, it's the same result.Exactly.

He is getting plus 1M in stillwaterPeople don’t realize how good he is…if you compare year by year he was better than Jared Rhoden in his first 2 years…by a wide margin. I would’ve given him a million. I think he’s that good.
Is that the type of guy you want as your No. 1 option, especially if you are looking to rebuild the program? If that’s what it’s come to, count me out.It probably did but If you throw someone a lot of money to stay and be the number one option…
In the 70s, in Avon, we had a terrific guy who was a retired vet and now worked for the town public works. He went to Kellys after work and tied a load on. The cops would be waiting for him on the Avon side of the bridge and they would escort him home. And then, things really changed. I remember being at a bar and we all wanted to drive home with one of our friends who was known as our best drunk driver. Even today, surprised and elated I survived all the insanity.Exactly.

Bringing it up is petty...DUI is petty? In what world?
I hear you, but let's also be real. The Coleman stuff about him being a "me first" player didn't seriously come out on our boards until he was long gone. When someone even insinuated he might be playing this way during the season -- which I did -- we were smacked down. Coincidence? Of course not. If we had been able to retain Coleman, the stuff that's come out wouldn't see the light of day here or been amplified how it has been amplified. Since he's gone, the "narrative building" starts. Likewise, while a DUI is an irresponsible and dangerous act (and one that occurs too often), you would have a line of posters excusing it if Coleman was back here and projected to be our best player. Is that the type of guy you want as your No. 1 option, especially if you are looking to rebuild the program? If that’s what it’s come to, count me out.
Not based on thisA junior Coleman -- who quickly became overrated last year when he had a few strong scoring games in a row -- would be in the argument for a potential preseason all league team IMO.
