You in Hamilton NUTS? I noticed that too. I measured around 6” around 1pm. Since then the sleet has been coming down good. Maybe around 2” worth
Grew up on Estates Bvld (the section just before Whitehorse-Mercerville Road. Parents still in the same house. I'm up in JC but will be down for lunch Tues (have to pick up hoops tix...yes, my dad still insists on "paper" tix lol....)!

so tomorrow I see a high for 29 for me..yes not above freezing and the wind chills will be brutal with 25mph gusts BUT with some sun later in the afternoon, its going to provide a window to get some melting and allowing for digging out and moving of any boulders which will turn to solid glaciers if you dont get rid of them tomorrow. Tomorrow night we get into single digits for lows and then struggle to even get out of the teens for high all week maybe some low 20s..nightime in the burbs will be near zero or even below. Tomorrow is the day guys. I do see some mid 30s popping up next week so that will feel like a sauna after the next 7-10 days.

Woodstown checking in. Got around 7 inches then it changed to sleet around noon. Still sleeting now, but it looks like we are dangerously close to changing to freezing rain. Really hoping that doesn't happen 😕

Nice I’m near Estates Blvd in Golden Crest now. Grew up in Trenton Villa Park/Chamberburg area. At least they will plow Estates. They rarely plow the side streets around here.

Ha! My mom's family moved to that area when she was in middle school; lived on Cleveland Ave between Hamilton and Greenwood, just east of Olden). Dad's family moved from Astoria to North Trenton.

Looks like the rain is moving into to Wall/Manasquan.

Any thoughts on this?-have about 1 inch of compacted snow and sleet on the driveway--leave that in place and let it rain over it, or clear the driveway now before/during rain. Thinking the former is best.

Just opened the garage door. Stuck my finger in about 2" of solid sleet. It is gonna suck shoveling this tomorrow. Not sure how the snow blower will work on this. It's still sleeting hard too. At least I dont have to worry about work tomorrow.

I still haven’t gone out, still sleeting here. I want the sleet to finish or almost finish falling on the snow before I go out.

I think it may taper down down around 9 or so, may go out then or do it tomorrow.

the base of snow at the bottom will help..the key is being able to shovel out your starting point and get your snowblower in there

Those seats are worth the drive.

so tomorrow I see a high for 29 for me..yes not above freezing and the wind chills will be brutal with 25mph gusts BUT with some sun later in the afternoon, its going to provide a window to get some melting and allowing for digging out and moving of any boulders which will turn to solid glaciers if you dont get rid of them tomorrow.
Yes - there’s a brief window to get the roads and lots right. In general, I think my local crews, county crews and DOT do a great job.

At 4PM went out to shovel, measured 10 inches of snow on the driveway, 11 inches on the Lexus:

After about 10 minutes of shoveling, I said to myself: "What the hell are you doing???" So I went up to my attic, grabbed one of my tailgate speakers, threw it on the stoop and cranked my Summer Song playlist.

So here's what played while I was out there:

Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffett
All Summer Long - Kid Rock
Ride The Wild Surf - Jan and Dean
Cruel Summer - Banarama
Great Balls Of Fire - Jerry Lee Lewis
Hot Hot Hot - Buster Poindexter
Boys Of Summer - Don Henley
That's The Way - Katrina & The Waves
Surfin' USA - Beach Boys
In The Summertime - Mungo Jerry
Miserlou - Dick Dale & His Del-Tones
Wipe Out - The Surfaris
Take It Easy - Eagles
Katmandu - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
California Girls - David Lee Roth
Fire Lake - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band
Runaround Sue - Eddie & The Cruisers
I'm Alright - Kenny Loggins
The Wanderer - Dion
Make Me Lose Control - Eric Carmen
Little GTO - The Daytonas
Motown Song - Rod Stewart and the Temptations
Down On The Corner - CCR
I Can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash
Reggae Night - Jimmy Cliff
One Love - Bob Marley
Groovin' - The Young Rascals
You're Sixteen - Ringo Starr
Moonlight Feels Right - Starbuck

Nice I’m near Estates Blvd in Golden Crest now. Grew up in Trenton Villa Park/Chamberburg area. At least they will plow Estates. They rarely plow the side streets around here.

How interesting. My first pad was 5 Kiernan Way, which if I'm not mistaken is right off of Estates. That was when I was still experiencing Jersey culture shock. My running route was out on W-M road, then past Steinert High School, and up Estates back to Kiernan.

It was a model home, and had an unfinished second floor. I learned a lot working with my father-in-law (WWII vet who drove down from Sussex County for long visits) as we finished that upstairs and cranked up the equity.

Hamilton was cool...

26-28 F. So, no. Think I should leave it be. Supposed to rain till about midnight. Can hit it tomorrow, even if I need a steel metal shovel to break the frozen layer up.
Yes probably best bet because some cushion underneath as opposed to ice rain on pavement

The forecast in my Cherry Hill zip code is for freezing rain until 4 a.m., possibly mixed with sleet. (When I poked my head out just now, there was both sleet and rain coming down. ) The temperature is 18. (Note that the forecast says the low will be 23 degrees, so the NWS clearly muffed that.) All I can think of is that there must be a warm layer aloft, and that the cold layer below it is not thick enough for all of the precipitation to freeze on the way down and become sleet. Instead some of it is freezing only when it hits the ground. Does that sound reasonable?

The forecast is still for a tenth up to two-tenths of an inch of ice accumulation. Let's hope that trees and power lines don't come down.

Yup...that's one of the sections....I think there use to be 5 but now most are connected (mine and the section by Langtree Middle School, then that one and the sections you're talking about was connect...the only part not is the one of Kuser Road I think? Crazy!

My kid and I did one shovelling run a few hours ago for the driveway (dealing with 4 cars w/a 2-car garage) just as it started to sleet. Should I just wait until tomorrow to finish shoveling? Figure I'll hit the walkways tomorrow with the snowblower. Good?

IDK if this answers your question, but this is interesting, and if you look at the graph, it is a warm nose! @bac2therac will like this.

Back edge is at Jersey/PA border

There will be some light at precip at times
in the northern part of state but the worst is over and this puppy is being put to bed
Turned out to be less than feared (or hoped by some). Lots of lessons to be learned on this one.
