I just walked up to the beach and anything exposed was getting pelted with ice at 40+mph. Not fun

i would say around 8...hard to pinpoint because there was some blowing around.
I'm in the Wayne area and I must be above whatever line of demarcation you guys are talking about because we are getting absolutely crushed here. we're going to blow past the projection
The nam did well and led the way on the warm nose but its snow maps underperformed as initial ratios were high dumping 6-9 before changeover instead of 5-6

How much do you have? Once it flips near shore its likely sleet all the way which could accume 1-2
The problem is that people put too much emphasis on snowfall amounts and not enough on the form of precipitation. Sleet and (if it comes) freezing rain are more dangerous and harder to cope with than snow.
Yeah, this terrifies me. Getting into the low single digits makes me want to shut off the water entirely before going to bed.
Shut off the water? If it’s worry about freezing pipes a slow drip can help prevent that.
Really hard to tell guy. Wind had parts of street down to blacktop for a long time. Half my deck has no snow. If someone said 4-6 I'd have to agree
that 11 inch report in Bridgewater looks dubious given all the other report

About ten minutes ago, the NWS updated its winter storm warnings. The warning for most of the state (including New Brunswick) says we can expect additional snow and sleet accumulations of up to four inches and ice accumulations of up to .2". "The snow will continue to mix with and change to sleet and areas of freezing rain through Sunday evening and into Sunday night." The ending time is still projected at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
The areas not covered are the shore counties (Monmouth through Cape May) and the semi-circle of counties stretching from Union though Warren (except that Morris County is covered).

Not as brave as @newell138 but just took a short tour of area. Found an entire block where it.s down to blacktop and sidewalk and another that's maybe 60/40. Meanwhle there's parts that have a lot of snow. Depends on wind direction which appears to be out of the N/NE.
Concurred. But when it gets down to 2 degrees or so, even pipes with dripping faucets can freeze.
If you're up north, please note my edit giving a link to the New York NWS's office warning. It's a little better, but not much.I’m fine with that.

I measured in 3 spots. Avg was about 6" It was hard to find a level area with the drifts.
I started snow blowing/shoveling right after the sleet started. It was so much easier in the beginning. After that sleet fell the weight increased like crazy. F that it sucked.
Just had a snow service do a first pass before the freezing slop builds up. Nothing crazy based on our Ring camera. Maybe 6-7 inches at home?
additional sleet frozen stuff will likely be in the range of 1-1.5 inches for all the areas who stay sleet....should starting winding down by 9 maybe sooner maybe later depending on how quickly the dry slot comes through
