So close for IU to have the best coach in football and basketball. If Michigan wins the national championship this year is Dusty essentially the Cignetti of basketball by winning it in his second year? Google him, he wins, too.

There will not be another Cignetti. Michigan has a great basketball history and lots of resources. He’s a great coach for sure, but he has all the help he could need.

He took FAU to the FF and completely turned Michigan around in one season and now is following it up with having Michigan as the favorite to win it all in this year’s NCAA tourney. Cignetti is in a class all to himself, but Dusty is doing extraordinary work, too, and he might quickly becoming the best college basketball coach in the country right now.Not even close to what Cignetti did..

Knowing Woody wouldn't be here at most a few years so he could have had the job. You are right, he just didn't want it.Not that I'm aware of. I will never forgive Gap-Tooth for putting Indiana in that position.I am absolutely connected on this and if QB and SD did the right thing a year earlier he would be our coach.....act intelligent all you want, but you don't know ish.

Do you know the inner workings of the Michigan AD and how they compare to IU's? Do you automatically assume our roster would be as stacked as Michigan's is this year? If so, show your work.I am absolutely connected on this and if QB and SD did the right thing a year earlier he would be our coach.....act intelligent all you want, but you don't know ish.

No one knows how it would turn out for him at IU, but if he came to IU his allowance would have been just as big at UM. Therefore, it is easy to assume similar success because wildly he is coaching in the same conference! Actually IU is known to be on the upper level for their system.,Well, good for you. Michigan had been to the final four within the last few years. Indiana was never well funded whereas Michigan had always been well funded in both basketball and football Michigan was paying players pre NIL. When Dusty May came to Michigan, he was a known entity. He had big success and TV exposure coaching at FAU in the final four , which is why he got the job.Of course, but if Michigan does win the championship this year, everyone will be talking about how May is a coaching genius. I think he’s slightly higher, hopefully more, than a Tom Crean, which is better than most of what we’ve had the past 26 years. However, with Dusty it looks like he’s taking over the Izzo spot in the B1G, depending on what he does in the tourney. You both realize DD is a pretty good coach and we’re going to be ok?
