Do we really need another thread when the same conversation is going on in 10 others

He has a really good record vs Quads 2, 3 and 4!
and as Brian Kelly would say he’s “Famuuuhleee”

The argument for him is that the Caleb Wilson injury could have torpedoed the team, but they mostly held it together for for the last 6 weeks. And they beat Dook, Kansas, and Kentucky in the same year for the first time in a while. And practically, firing a coach now and hiring someone new quickly enough who could retain their recruiting class, convince Veesaar, Dixon, and Stevenson to stay, and who could successfully navigate the portal to add the players they need is an extremely small needle to thread.
Firing Hubert now would, in all likelihood, lead to a 10 win season next year.

Because it is too late in the game to fire him unless your coach is waiting to sign. But no coach that Carolina would want (other than Stevens) is coming to Chapel Hill until after the tournament. You risk losing both 5 stars and also not having time to hit the portal which is so early and short now.

My god, can we just consolidate all the Hubert threads to 1-2 threads? It's the same things being rehashed over and over and pushes other threads down. At least wait until the season is officially over. (i am not trying to single out the OP, but just the board atmosphere in general)

I will be interested to see if anyone will attempt to make a POSITIVE case for HD being the right coach for this program. I mean an argument that doesn't include any "ifs," "buts" or "whatabouts." An argument that his results have so far been good and not one that "well, he deserves a chance to prove it next year."
Because I have yet to see that argument from anyone.

Regardless of your question, Hubert is going to return. There is no scenario where Hubert will be fired. They could lose to VCU by 50 points and he will not be fired. And there is an even lesser chance that he would resign.
Just start working through whatever you need to do to accept this.

Ah, another way to come at this topic from an entirely different angle!
A different inflection point, if you will.

But anyone we would hire is well versed in the portal and has assuredly scouted it thoroughly. As long as our admin has done even a minimal amount of due diligence (this i’m not sure), we would be fine to move on after this weekends presumptive failure. But it is professional sports. He should return to broadcasting. He was good at it and seemed to be enjoying life.
