Is Indiana Cheating

The meteoric rise is unbelievable. From one of the worst teams in P5 to arguably best CFB team ever in 2 years. Bud Davis thinks something’s fishy.

Big allegation from Bud here. Cig has been a death machine though and he does have a heisman winning QB to pair with an elite defense..

The rise is INCREDIBLE. Maybe the most impressive we've ever seen. But people act like they were going 1-11 every year. They weren't. Historically, one of the worst programs. But at least IU was mostly competent the past decade, outside of a couple seasons. I think the average age of players on Indiana being 23 is part of the reason for the success.

Nine wins total in the three seasons before Cig showed up is pretty crappy near term to go with losingest program of all time long term. ‘The worst program ever was in a down period. 😳

DING DING DING, we have a winner. They have a few 25-year-olds playing. Literally have men playing against boys for a large part. Not just about physical strength but mental maturity to do what one is supposed to and not supposed to. It is showing in the Teams discipline.

I just want to know exactly what he is doing to make the best teams in CFB look like Pop Warner level teams? His players aren't better talent wise and he is not going up against poorly coached teams either. It's almost like they know every play and coverage that's being run against them Offensively and Defensively. You can't accuse them of cheating without proof but the unprecedented meteoric rise to power is definitely questionable.

They had 8 recruits from 20/21 starting. Oregon had 6. It’s a piece of it, but the massively larger part is having the right older guys and the right coaching.

Excellent coaching & really really good evaluating. Part of the talent evaluation is identifying players that want to be a part of something, not just after the most $. SOS could sell it, Meyer as well, then of course Saban followed by Kirby (briefly), now Cignetti.

People should shut up when they have to conclude their assertions with "this isn't based on any evidence."

I like Bud’s posting but that’s a bit much. At least drop your theory on what type of cheating. They aren’t getting the highest recruits so is it PEDs, paying refs, etc? Stupid theory.

Except he hasn’t backed anything up except for providing data that Indiana is better than they have been (duh). He will spout that nonsense about cheating, then not have the stones to assert what kind of cheating he thinks is going on. I guess we’ll have to wait for his computer to come up with an idea since he’s not capable of thinking without his little stats.

Seriously in today’s college football there are basically no rules. So unless they are playing guys with no eligibility or not even officially enrolled in school then how are they cheating?

I think it's fair to question how, and only natural some folks might be skeptical. I think it's just more than Cignetti is truly an elite coach who is taking advantage of the portal and has veteran experience motivating, leading, and coaching. Taking a bunch of dudes with a ton of experience and utilizing them properly and motivating them well can be a recipe for success obviously.
