"Iowa fans really need to let it go" (Which is actually good advice, all around). I wish there was some room for ' didn't like the way it ended, but I can appreciate spending 15 years or whatever of my life there and have some good memories.

I see people are going after Caitlin because all the Ex Hawks have been posting things and Caitlin hasn't said a word

Sounds about the right behavior for a person who was born on 3rd base and believes they hit a triple.

Connor needs to let it go. He has the personality of a 10 year old.

Connor is a whiny b—-h. He just is. I always assumed he was bright enough to separate the business versus family Iowa was more than patient with Fran. But let’s face it, we were never close to a Sweet 16. What few first round wins we had were followed by complete butt kickings in R2 Fran wasn’t a good enough coach. He just wasn’t

He got close once and lost in OT. Albeit that was after being down 20 plus points.

That would require emotional intelligence. (Connor has very little of that)

Fran got fired by an Iowa and the fan base was a bit harsh on the family though the years. But read the room dude, nobody was showing up to games in his last years. There weren’t many options for Beth. It sucks but your family should be worth 10’s of millions of dollars paid by the very program and fans you now despise. He should know better, he’s in college sports as a career. It’s just a terrible look and it burns bridges, petty ain’t a good look to future employers. I loved Connor as a Hawkeye, but he’s no longer a Hawkeye by his own admission .

If this is true (not saying it's not; I do not do much social media and the only things from Twitter I ever see are from my kids or on this board) , that is extremely unfortunate. For her to turn her back on her alma mater because of something as petty (in the grand scheme of things) as the Fran situation is about the worst possible way this thing ends. Coaches lose jobs all the time; they know what they're getting into. And heck, he was only unemployed for a few weeks. She should be pumping up Iowa on her social media feeds, and she should definitely make an appearance tonight, much like many Hawkeye legends did for the WBB team during their FF runs. If she avoids the biggest Iowa men's basketball game of her lifetime due to some spite regarding her guy's dad, that is literally about as bad as it gets. She can have whatever she wants for the rest of her life - I hope Connor is worth it to her.

He won a grand total of 4 NCAA Tournament games in 15 years. And none of the four wins were power conference teams. Doc was saying on his podcast no way a Fran team would have beaten Florida, they couldn’t get stops. I think Leistikow said in 7 of his last 8 seasons Iowa was either 1st or 2nd in the conference in offensive efficiency but also worst or 2nd worst defensive efficiency. He just flat refused to incorporate defense.

If Connor is her future husband then it would certainly be worth it to her. You choose your spouse over thousands of nameless fans, that’s easy. It may piss everyone off but it’s the right priority.

That's a little over the top. Expecting her to be at a game no matter what she has going on is unreasonable. She has a life.

When your biggest celebrity doesn't support or come around that's not great. Caitlin easily could get on a private jet anytime she wants

If Fran were coaching Iowa this season and miraculously made it to the NCAA's, not only would we have lost in the first round, he'd still be complaining about overinflated Wilson balls.

That’s the thing, Connor has a long career potentially ahead of him. Just pretend, or not go out of your way to be an ass like he’s prone to do on social media. Yes, fans egg him on but they fans, let it go. He needs a good therapist

She'll be a Hawkeye legend for eternity. Most celebrity marriages don't last 3 years.

It must be pretty dark in Caitlin’s shadow. He had to know that Barstool would immediately use the call for clicks. As image conscious as Caitlin has become, I wonder what she thinks of all this.

Correct. This is beyond petty behavior he's demonstrating. He's got 1,000 things to be happy about and focus on, why fixate on this? Well, we know why. Life will be very miserable over the next decade-plus for him if McCollum has a lot of success at Iowa.
