Nate Oats Speaks

Feel like Nate wants the job bad. The off-court player issues/personality fit concerns are a shame because otherwise I think he'd be a great candidate.

He means the Alabama admin, not UNC that he’s talked to. About an extension.

He definitely would. That's why I have said since the first mention of Hubert being fired on Friday that Nate is the floor for our job. Billy the Kid would do the same. And that's a pretty damn good floor.

Sabotaged by the extracurriculars of his own players, but he didn't really profile as a Chapel Hill guy anyway.

I'm sorry, if we announced Nate Oats at 3pm today I would be thrilled. The guy would kill it with the UNC brand.

I just don’t like this guy. He seems like CBB’s version of Eddie Haskell.

I’d be all in on Oats. He’d crush it at Carolina.

My general thought is that from the quad of Lloyd/May/TJO/Oats, the qualitative differences are so small that you interview them ALL as choice #1, and first one to avail himself or become available, sign him. ANY of those guys would absolutely crush it at Carolina. I like Oats. Win. Heels.

He’d get us to a S16 every year. Not sure about the rest of the targets

i know you guys talk about Oats character issues. Can anyone elaborate on that? He actually was my old pastors college roommate and I havent heard any real negatives on him.

The only thing I know about is his players making some poor decisions. But that isn't necessarily on Oats. Plus I don't know what is meant when they say he is not a "personality fit" here. In what way?
