Seems like more of a depth piece if they lose one or both of Brown/Fitzgerald in addition to Stratton leaving.

I assume he’s injured and will miss spring ball? I mean, why else would we want him?

Iowa could be down to two scholarship quarterbacks when the portal opens. I’m OK with Hecklinski and Sullivan competing for QB1, but Iowa will need more depth than the incoming freshman. They will almost certainly add a QB from the portal.

I didn’t realize they said that. If they did, my bad. But I also highly, highly doubt no one will leave between now and August so I stand by my comment, but perhaps with less vigor. 😉

Jackson Stratton is transferring and I have to think Fitzgerald's kid will transfer to MSU and play for his dad.

True.............WE don't know if anyone is leaving...........but the coaches have been having player meetings all this week per KF so maybe THEY know of some plans or changes we don't.

Yes, he did but the caveat there is "don't expect". Things sometimes change (and quickly) from when one observation is made publicly to what the staff finds out over the course of the next couple of days. Let me be clear: I have no inside info and don't expect or predict any departures. I think Tyler and the rest of the staff is content with the status quo of the QB room BUT they would be foolish to not keep eyes and ears open in case they need to move quickly or decide the team's "needs" have changed for whatever reason. So, while I don't think anything will come of this or expect any QB's to bolt, we (as casual fans) will be amongs the last to know.........much like ISU's players finding out about Campbell's courstship with PSU via social media rather than from MC himself or others on staff.

Just an FYI. Everything is fluid and the coaches aren't going to tell us all their plans for the players can find out from through the press.

Prior to 105 roster size, Chad and Scott said this week that Tim Lester wanted at least 6 in the QB room. With new roster limits, Tyler shared to Scott Dochterman that 5 would be number, with likely one walk-on among that number. ✌️
