The loss to Maryland was a horrible loss. If Iowa is to make the field of 68 they need to win some more games. Until they do, they are on the outside looking in. I feel the Hawkeyes will be in the field comfortably but they must get to 10-10 in conference or preferably 11-9.

I see 10-10 but am praying for 11-9. It’s achievable but not the way we’ve played lately

Not in his top 68? 12 B1G teams did make it. 4 teams below us in the conference standings make it. I get the Hawks had a bad week last week, but not top 68? C’mon man. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/47940627/jay-bilas-index-mens-college-basketball-rankings-top-teams-2025-26
Guess no loyalty from him to Iowa considering he almost came to Iowa out of high school- his mother wanted him to. Had he not gone to Duke he was coming here.

Ohio State and Penn State should be wins. Getting a win against a ranked team would be great, but I’m struggling to see it happen. Tonight might be the best chance. Otherwise, Sunday at Wisconsin—but they are playing well.

Penn state always concerns me because of how empty that arena normally is…churches make more noise.

With Bilas, you need to take two dukes and then plug your ass with a North Carolina.

To me Bilas is college basketball’s version of Herbstreit in football. I think both guys are far overhyped and too many people believe their opinions are gospel. Both guys through the years have made blunderous predictions.

based on many message board comments following the Purdue game, I'm surprised there are still Hawk fans that think they should be in the field of 68. Hopefully tonight will be a better showing, but this team is hitting some headwinds at the moment. Still hoping for 10-10 at minimum and maybe a win in the BT tourney. That recipe should get them in safely.

Their resume remains pretty strong; and only one bad loss to date.

Bilas has been negative about Iowa for several weeks. Don’t remember which game it was but had very differing opinions with one of the in studio analysts as well. He was bashing Iowa and the other analyst used statistical facts to shut him up.

Which is the "bad" loss: Minnesota or Maryland? Is there a difference?

I don’t mind Bilas. He is wrong in this case though. Iowa needs a signature win. Tonight needs to be it. Let’s Go!

At least Wisco we have the chance that the shat play or slump will be a distant memory but with the Fuskers coming to town and a late game to boot. We’ll see

When we were 8-4, I didnt think it was going to be that hard to go 3-5 down the stretch. Looks like that might prove to be outside of our reach now. I had @Wisconsin chalked up as a victory, but now they are hot and we are not. Also, Add in that I believe Michigan only won by two in Happy Valley amd Ohio State is in desperation mode. We are gonna have to beat some good teams down the stretch to get where we want to go.

If we can take one vs. Nebraska I would be happy- preferably tonight.
