The July Dead Period is almost over, a month that saw several top prospects come off the board. More than 30 of the nation’s top 50 recruits according to the 2023 On3 Consensus are currently committed.

But there are still many talented recruits who have not announced their decisions. Here are the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine‘s picks for the top 20 uncommitted players at this time.

Five-Star Plus+ CB Cormani McClain
On3 Consensus: No. 2
On3 RPM: Alabama 50.6%, Florida 23.9%, Miami 20.5%, Georgia 3.4%
The Skinny: The Gators were previously trending to land McClain’s commitment. However, the Crimson Tide are now in the lead after On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons projected them as the favorite for McClain. The 6-foot-1, 165 pound defensive back has taken five unofficial visits to Florida and two unofficial to Alabama. He also took an official visit to Miami on June 24.
On3 NIL Valuation: $307K

Five-star DL David Hicks
On3 Consensus: No. 8
On3 RPM: Texas A&M 52.3%, Oklahoma 41.9%, Miami 1.2%, Michigan State 1%, Oregon 1%
The Skinny: Hicks has taken nine unofficial visits to College Station, including three since June 1. Oklahoma got three unofficial visits from Hicks. While the RPM lists Hicks’ recruitment as a two-team battle, he has taken official visits to Miami, Michigan State and Oregon.
On3 NIL Valuation: $245K

Five-star ATH Nyckoles Harbor
On3 Consensus: No. 9
On3 RPM: Michigan 33.3%, LSU 27.1%, Maryland 11.3%, USC 7.6%, Miami 6.2%, South Carolina 4.3%, Georgia 3.4%, Penn State 1.9%, Alabama 1%, Oklahoma 1%
The Skinny: Maryland was once in the lead for Harbor, but now it is the Wolverines. However, Harbor last visited Ann Arbor on Sept. 25, 2021 unofficially. More recently, he took an official visit to Miami on June 24 and has another one scheduled at LSU for Oct. 7.
On3 NIL Valuation: $347K

Five-star DL James Smith
On3 Consensus: No. 11
On3 RPM: Alabama 51.7%, Georgia 27.7%, Auburn 18.5%, Texas A&M 1%
The Skinny: Even though Smith last visited Tuscaloosa in January, the Crimson Tide are in the lead for his commitment. But don’t count out the Bulldogs and the Tigers. Smith took official visits to both programs last month. He has visited Auburn five times, the most of any program. Additionally, watch high school teammate Qua Russaw’s recruitment closely. Smith and Russaw could be headed to the same program.
On3 NIL Valuation: $212K

Five-star S Caleb Downs
On3 Consensus: No. 13
On3 RPM: Alabama 54.1%, Georgia 27.1%, Ohio State 14.8%, Notre Dame 1.4%, Clemson 1.1%
The Skinny: It is a battle between the Crimson Tide, the Bulldogs and the Buckeyes for Downs’ commitment, according to On3’s Chad Simmons. Downs visited each program officially last month. Georgia previously had the lead in the RPM for Downs, but now Alabama is in front. Downs is announcing his decision on July 27.

Five-star LB Anthony Hill
On3 Consensus: No. 14
On3 RPM: Texas A&M 75.2%, Texas 13.8%, Oklahoma 4%, Alabama 2.2%, USC 1.7%
The Skinny: Hill announced that he is deciding between Texas A&M and Texas on June 29. The Aggies have the edge currently. He has visited College Station five times so far and has an unofficial visit scheduled for the end of the month.
On3 NIL Valuation: $231K

Five-star OT Samson Okunlola
On3 Consensus: No. 15
On3 RPM: Miami 95.2%, Michigan State 1.2%
The Skinny: This seems like a two-team battle between the Hurricanes and the Spartans. Okunlola took official visits to both programs last month, but Miami has the edge right now. If he commits to the Hurricanes, Okunlola will be in the same class as five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa.
On3 NIL Valuation: $219K

Five-star EDGE Qua Russaw
On3 Consensus: No. 17
On3 RPM: Georgia 46%, Alabama 33.9%, Auburn 13.4%, Miami 3.1%, Texas A&M 1.1%
The Skinny: Russaw, high school teammates with James Smith, could be playing together once again on the next level. While Smith’s favorite is Alabama, Georgia has the edge for Russaw. He was in Athens for a June 17 official visit, the same as Smith. Both prospects also officially visited Auburn on June 24.
On3 NIL Valuation: $224K

Five-star TE Duce Robinson
On3 Consensus: No. 18
On3 RPM: USC 91.3%, Texas 2.7%, Georgia 2%, Clemson 1.6%
The Skinny: The Trojans have been the favorite for Robinson for months now. Any team that lands the 6-foot-6, 230 pound pass catcher gets a huge asset. For now, it seems like Lincoln Riley and USC will be the recipients of Robinson’s talent.
On3 NIL Valuation: $218K

Five-star DL Matayo Uiagalelei
On3 Consensus: No. 20
On3 RPM: Ohio State 36.6%, Oregon 30.1%, USC 25.2%, Alabama 4%, Clemson 2.6%
The Skinny: USC once had the lead for Uiagalelei’s commitment. But now the Buckeyes have the advantage. He took an official visit to Columbus on June 10 and also officially visited USC and Oregon in the following weeks.
On3 NIL Valuation: $235K

Five-star EDGE Samuel M’Pemba
On3 Consensus: No. 21
On3 RPM: Georgia 76.9%, Notre Dame 15.3%, Michigan 2.7%, Missouri 1.5%, Florida 1.1%
The Skinny: M’Pemba has been trending towards Georgia recently and the Bulldogs are in good position for his commitment. The five-star has built a strong relationship with Georgia outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe. Yet M’Pemba recently announced he will be Florida’s campus at the end of the month. M’Pemba also scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame for November.
On3 NIL Valuation: $206K

Five-star WR Hykeem Williams
On3 Consensus: No. 23
On3 RPM: Texas A&M 89.5%, Miami 2.6%, Georgia 1.9%, Pittsburgh 1.3%
The Skinny: Williams would be a huge pickup for the Aggies’ 2023 recruiting class. The pass catcher has visited College Station twice. If he commits to Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M’s class would certainly rise from its No. 53 ranking.
On3 NIL Valuation: $198K

Five-star RB Richard Young
On3 Consensus: No. 30
On3 RPM: Alabama 48.4%, Oregon 30.5%, Georgia 17.4%
The Skinny: The Crimson Tide previously had a commanding lead for Young’s services, according to the RPM. While they are still favored, the Ducks are making an impressive charge for the nation’s top running back. Young took official visits to both schools last month.
On3 NIL Valuation: $233K

Five-star WR Shelton Sampson Jr.
On3 Consensus: No. 31
On3 RPM: LSU 86.3%, Alabama 5.4%, Florida State 4.1%, Texas A&M 3.1%
The Skinny: Keeping Sampson Jr., a Baton Rouge native, would be an impressive win on the recruiting trail for Brian Kelly. The Tigers are in good position for Sampson Jr., who would be the latest piece in a top 10 class if he commits to LSU.
On3 NIL Valuation: $223K

Four-star S Javien Toviano
On3 Consensus: No. 33
On3 RPM: Texas A&M 23.9%, Texas 20.9%, Michigan 18%, Oklahoma 10.1%, Baylor 5.3%, LSU 5.3%, Alabama 5.3%
The Skinny: There is a close race among multiple schools for Toviano, one of the top safeties in the 2023 recruiting class. Chad Simmons reported on the Simmons Scoop that Toviano will be visiting LSU later this month. He added that both Texas A&M and Texas are confident they can land the four-star recruit.
On3 NIL Valuation: $179K

Four-star EDGE Damon Wilson
On3 Consensus: No. 40
On3 RPM: Alabama 52.6%, Georgia 36.2%, Miami 3.1%, Ohio State 2.6%
The Skinny: Wilson has been rising up the recruiting rankings recently. Alabama is the only school he has visited multiple times, including for a June 17 official visit. The Crimson Tide currently have the lead, but Georgia is making a push. The Bulldogs had Wilson on campus for an unofficial visit on June 4.
On3 NIL Valuation: $166K

Four-star RB Cedric Baxter Jr.
On3 Consensus: No. 46
On3 RPM: Texas 75.9%, Florida 7.2%, Miami 5.1%, Texas A&M 3.9%, Arkansas 3.2%
The Skinny: Baxter is announcing his commitment on Aug. 10 and is choosing between the Longhorns, the Gators, the Hurricanes and the Aggies. The four-star running back has only taken one official visit so far and it was to Texas on June 10. As a result, the Longhorns are in good position for another top-50 prospect.
On3 NIL Valuation: $183K

Four-star OT Zalance Heard
On3 Consensus: No. 50
On3 RPM: LSU 97.8%
The Skinny: It looks like Heard is staying in-state. He was recently on an unofficial visit to Baton Rouge in June and his high school teammate, Will Campbell, currently plays on the Tigers’ offensive line.
On3 NIL Valuation: $158K

Four-star LB Malik Bryant
On3 Consensus: No. 55
On3 RPM: Miami 51.5%, Florida 44.7%
The Skinny: Bryant originally planned to commit on July 23, but chose to push back his decision. This looks like a two-team race between the Hurricanes and Gators. Bryant has taken five visits to Miami and four to Florida. Both programs have received official visits from him.
On3 NIL Valuation: $172K

Four-star DL Kelby Collins
On3 Consensus: No. 59
On3 RPM: Alabama 90.2%, Georgia 3.3%, Florida 2%, Auburn 1.4%, South Carolina 1.4%
The Skinny: Collins has already taken seven unofficial visits to Alabama and has an official visit scheduled for Dec. 9. It looks more and more likely he will stay in-state, even though he has taken official visits to Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
On3 NIL Valuation: $145K
