West Virginia head coach Ross Hodge joined the post game radio following the match up with Xavier and here is a summary of what was said.

–Allowed Xavier to establish a comfort zone and rhythm offensively. They were able to move the ball freely and find the open man and when they did they didn’t miss. When you allow somebody to get comfortable they make shots, they couldn’t string enough stops defensively. They felt they had an advantage coming into the game physically but they couldn’t establish that.

–West Virginia had just three offensive rebounds and that was expected to be an advantage.

–Treysen Eaglestaff was aggressive and got downhill. They need more consistency on the team right now and a second scorer. They need to practice and that’s what you learn from. Xavier got their butts kicked a couple times earlier this year and figured some things out.
