Counting down the Alabama roster three players at a time. Next up for the 2023 series: offensive linemen JC Latham and James Brockermeyer and defensive lineman Anquin Barnes.

65 OT JC Latham

2022: As a sophomore, Latham started all 13 games at right tackle. Piled up 29 knockdown blocks while allowing just two sacks on the season. Posted season-high five knockdown blocks in win at Arkansas.

Of note: Despite the need for a new starter at left tackle, Latham continued in his role on the right side in the 2023 A-Day game. Latham didn’t allow a sack or quarterback hurry in the scrimmage. A powerful and agile performer in the run game, the junior also helped running backs Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams combine for 60 rushing yards on 11 carries. After committing 10 penalties a season ago, Latham went without a flag in the spring game. A recipient of the Paul Crane Offensive Lineman Award at the close of spring drills, Latham — regardless of which side he lines up on — will be counted on to help ease the transition to a new starter at quarterback.

59 DL Anquin Barnes

2022: After redshirting in 2021, Barnes did not see game action in his second season at UA.

Of note: In the latest A-Day game, Barnes worked in support of nose tackle Tim Keenan for the White (second-team) defense. The redshirt sophomore contributed three total tackles, including a solo, in the scrimmage. Possesses prototype interior size and gives consistent effort from snap to whistle. With Keenan and Jaheim Oatis in front of him, Barnes projects as depth provider.

58 OL James Brockermeyer

2022: After redshirting in 2021, Brockermeyer saw action in two games last season (Louisiana-Monroe) and Kansas State. Worked at center in both appearances.

Of note: With Darrian Dalcourt joining Seth McLaughlin in the starting five, Brockermeyer worked with the second-team offense during 2023 spring drills. The redshirt sophomore opened the A-Day game at the spot for the Crimson team and helped running back Justice Haynes find the end zone twice on the ground. Heads into Year 3 as a solid depth provider with potential to move up as he makes gains in bulk and strength.
