Three-star linebacker Marcellius Pulliam of Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek has emerged as a top Auburn defensive target. And according to Pulliam, the interest is mutual.

Sunday, he named a top eight of Auburn, ClemsonGeorgia TechIndianaKentuckyLouisvilleMiami and Mississippi State.

He is the No. 49 linebacker recruit in the 2023 class for the On3 Consensus.

He last visited the Tigers in late July for Big Cat Weekend. Now, Pulliam plans to return this fall for an official visit.

He’s expected to visit Auburn again in September

Per Auburn Live’s Jeffrey Lee:

Pulliam tentatively has set an official visit to Auburn for the weekend of Sept. 23-25. Auburn hosts Missouri on Sept. 24. It will be Pulliam’s third visit to Auburn this year, according to his On3 recruiting page. He first visited in March.

Pullium’s interest in the Tigers stems mainly from his relationship with the Tigers’ first-year linebackers coach, Christian Robinson. The two have developed a strong bond throughout Pullium’s recruitment.

“Coach C-Rob, we chop it up almost every week,” Pullium said. “Every time he’s got a moment and I’ve got a moment we’re always on the phone laughing it up and talking football. It’s a great relationship between me and him.”

Pullium also likes the vibe at Auburn.

“I love the environment, it’s a great place,” Pulliam said. “Ever since they offered me, they’ve been showing me love. Nothing has changed, it’s always been that same love. If it has changed, it’s getting stronger. It’s not getting weaker.

Pulliam has two other officials set

There is plenty of competition to land Pulliam.

According to CaneSport, Miami and Kentucky also will get officials. He previously visited Miami in June.

“I’ll be back in Miami Oct. 8 for the North Carolina game,” Pulliam told CaneSports. “I’m also going to Auburn Sept. 24 and Kentucky Oct. 15.”

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) favors Auburn at 46.3 percent, followed by in-state Georgia Tech at 16.7 percent.
