Now the most prospects have gotten a good look at the schools they wanted to see, top schools announcements are starting to come out left and right. Some have it more narrowed down than others. For 4-star Auburn OT target Wilkin Formby from Tuscaloosa, Ala., he has cut it down to five.

Top schools

Included in Formby’s top schools are Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

Auburn made the cut for the big OT prospect. This was a big cut. Auburn has hosted him twice in 2022: once on Jan. 29 and just recently on Apr. 4. Formby has visited Auburn five times on record. The only other school he has visited that many times is Alabama which is essentially in his back yard.

He has been to Ole Miss four times on record and is scheduled to be back for their spring game this weekend. Intel tells us that Auburn, Alabama, and Ole Miss are probably at the very top of his top 5.

Interestingly, Ole Miss is the current leader in the On3 RPM with a 35.1% chance at landing him. Behind the Rebels are Alabama with 22.1%, and Auburn with 18.9%. No expert predictions have been made for Formby as of yet.

The latest intel regarding Auburn

There is confidence at Alabama that if they push for Formby, they will get him. That’s understandable as he is from Tuscaloosa and has many family ties to the University. Auburn, however, has made him a top priority. He’s one of the top 20 prospects on Auburn’s board regardless of position. The Tigers, of course, have a massive need for the OL.

Formby was on record calling his last Auburn visit “the most important” visit he has taken to Auburn.

“It was one of the most important visits to Auburn that I’ve had, if not the most important visit”

Auburn felt strongly that they would be in this one until the end, and they look to be right about that. This recruitment isn’t easy to read, but as long as Alabama isn’t pushing too hard, Ole Miss and Auburn are realistic options to land his commitment.
