Top 5 'Wants' For Auburn 2025 Recruiting Class

Tight end Hollis Davidson has committed to Auburn.

Davidson, who attends McIntosh in Peachtree City, Ga., announced his decision Tuesday on social media. He chose the Tigers over offers from Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Penn State, Miami, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and South Carolina, among others.

Davidson’s commitment comes after an unofficial visit to Auburn on Saturday.

“Man, it was great,” Davidson said. “The facilities down here are amazing, the weather was great. It was cool outside. Everybody was showing love. I got to be down here with Ryan (Ghea), he is one of my boys who is committed here. I enjoyed the day with Coach Ben (Aigamaua), Coach Logan (Bradley), and everybody. Everybody was showing a lot of love and it was amazing.”

Ghea has started to build strong bonds with Aigamaua and Bradley, who is the tight ends assistant coach. He spent time with both of them during Saturday’s visit.

“They’re both great. I really like how Coach Ben is like a family man,” Davidson said on Saturday. “He wants to take me under his wing if I were to come here. He gets along with my family really well. Coach Logan, I actually met him today. He was showing me around everywhere and seems really awesome. I appreciate all the hospitality they have been showing and I am really thankful.”

Davidson projects as more of an H-back

As a junior, Davidson had 30 receptions for 436 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 14.5 yards per catch and had at least three receptions in seven games.

“Right now more of like an H-back, more of a pass catcher,” Davidson said. “I can put on weight quick, I was 212 when I was down here in October and I am 238 now–I will be able to fill out and get some work in the run game. I can be a true hybrid, but to start out, I will be like an H.”

Davidson is the eighth commitment in the Tigers’ 2025 class and second tight end. Ghea, a three-star tight end out of Alpharetta, Ga., committed to Auburn in November.

“Yeah, I appreciate the relationship I have with Ryan (Ghea),” Davidson said. “I don’t really have anything like it right now with another school, with someone else committed. Ryan is awesome. Us being in the same class, if I were to come here, we would come up together, move up together. They run a lot of 12 and 13 personnel so we would play on the field together. I feel like that’s a bonus, too.”
