Jacorious Hart grew up in the shadows or Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium dreaming of playing inside and in front of the 87,000-plus fans.

Hart soon will be living out his dreams.

The three-star cornerback from Loachapoka, Ala., a town less than 10 miles from Auburn, committed to the Tigers on Friday. Hart chose Auburn over UCF, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, among others.

“Auburn is my dream school,” Hart said. “It’s home for me. It always has been. Being able to play for Auburn is a dream come true for me.”

Hart announced his decision at Loachapoka High School in front of family members, teammates, friends and coaches. He’s the first player from Loachapoka to commit to Auburn since Montae Pitts did so more than 20 years ago.

“It’s a special day for me,” Hart said. “Auburn has always been special to me. It has a family feel. It’s the hometown team and I have the opportunity to play for it in front of my family and friends. I don’t have to drive hours away to go to a school that can get me to the NFL.”

Trovon Reed played instrumental role in Hart’s decision

Relationships also were important in Hart’s decision to commit to Auburn.

Hart has a deep and long-standing relationship with Auburn director of football and recruiting relations Trovon Reed. The two first met during Hart’s freshman year when Reed, a former Auburn player, was in the NFL.

“(Reed) came to Loachapoka one day when we were having a 7-on-7,” Hart said. “He was in the NFL and was back in Auburn visiting. I talked to him after it was over and he told me some really good stuff.”

The relationship evolved from there.

“I used to call him every day and ask him if there’s anything he could help me with,” Hart said. “He told me that he would train me, and so he did the whole summer. He told me that whatever I wanted to happen that we would make come true.

“And we did.”

Auburn’s 7th commitment in 2023 class

Hart on Friday became Auburn’s seventh commitment in the 2023 class. He’s also the second defensive back, joining four-star safety Terrance Love.

Hart, who is 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, is being recruited to Auburn to play cornerback.

The Tigers now have added five commitments in the past two weeks, three in the 2023 class and two in the 2024 class. The two other ’23 commitments were four-star edges Wilky Denaud and Ashley Williams. The pair of ’24 commitments were four-star quarterback Adrian Posse and four-star defensive back A’Mon Lane.
