For new Auburn coach Hugh Freeze, it’s been go-go-go since he was hired by the Tigers two weeks ago. And that trend certainly will continue in the coming days.

With the early signing period (Dec. 21) right around the corner, this is the final week college coaches can visits those players who plan to sign next week. Head coaches get just one in-home visit per recruit.

This week, Freeze will go in-home with several major targets to give his final pitch before signing day.

One big stop will take place right down the road in Montgomery. We’ve confirmed Freeze will do his in-home with 5-star targets James Smith, a defensive tackle, and Qua Russaw, an edge/linebacker, Wednesday. And he won’t be alone.

Sources tell us secondary coach Zac Etheridge, the duo’s area recruiter, also is going. Additionally, it seems likely defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett and linebackers coach Christian Robinson, will be there too.

Florida is visiting Smith and Russaw on Monday. Alabama coach Nick Saban will be there Thursday.

Smith, No. 13 player nationally in the On3 Consensus, and Russaw, who checks in at No. 21, officially visited Alabama last weekend. That will be their final official. They officially visited Auburn and Georgia in June, and Florida this fall.

Right now, Alabama leads for both players in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Auburn is second for Russaw and third for Smith.

***A trusted source told Auburn Live on Monday the Tigers remain very much in the picture with 4-star Florida State defensive end/edge commit Keldric Faulk of Highland Home (Ala.). Freeze went in-home with Faulk on Sunday. He is the No. 104 recruit in the country for the On3 Consensus.
