Where Auburn ranks after J'Marion Burnette commitment

Before the commitment of 4-star running back J’Marion “Phat” Burnette of Andalusia (Ala.), Auburn ranked 17th in the country in team recruiting rankings according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Now, with the addition of its fourth 4-star recruit, Auburn has the No. 13 class in the 2024 class rankings according to On3.

In the last five recruiting cycles, Auburn has finished below a 4-star average only once. The Tigers are off to a strong start with an early 2024 class full of blue chips recruits.

  • 2019: No. 12 overall, 6th in the SEC, 91.26 class score (above 4-star average)
  • 2020: No. 7 overall, 5th in the SEC, 91.96 class score (above 4-star average)
  • 2021: No. 21 overall, 8th in the SEC, 88.43 class score (3-star average)
  • 2022: No. 16 overall, 6th in the SEC, 89.66 class score (above 4-star average)
  • 2023: No. 17 overall, 8th in the SEC, 90.17 class score (above 4-star average)

Before Burnette commitment

The Tigers were ranked 8th in the SEC and had a class score of 90.73. That class average was over the 4-star ranking threshold.

  • QB: Walker White – 4-star, 93.03
  • CB: Jayden Lewis – 4-star, 90.00
  • S: A’mon Lane – 4-star, 89.77

Four-star defensive back commit A’Mon Lane of Moody (Ala.) and four-star defensive back commit Jayden Lewis of Anniston (Ala.) helped make up a 67 percent in-state class for the Tigers.

After Burnette commitment

With the addition of Burnette, who holds an On3 Industry 4-star ranking and a score of 91.31, the class score jumped .3 points from 90.73 to 91.03.

Auburn jumped up one spot in the conference rankings from 8th to 7th. The Tigers jumped Texas A&M for now.

Auburn went from the No. 17 spot in the team rankings to the No. 13 spot overall.
