Florida State DT Darrell Jackson declares for NFL Draft
Neither decision was a surprise, but the Florida State football team will be tasked with replacing both of its starting defensive tackles in 2025 following Darrell Jackson’s decision to enter the NFL Draft.
Jackson announced his decision on Saturday afternoon, joining longtime friend and defensive lineman Joshua Farmer, who announced his choice on Thursday.
Though he had been at Florida State for two years, Jackson’s only full season came in 2024. He was forced to sit out the 2023 regular season after transferring in from Miami and only was allowed to play in the Orange Bowl.
In 2024, Jackson registered 32 tackles with 4.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He also was credited with four quarterback hurries and one forced fumble, while earning Honorable Mention All-ACC honors.

Jackson and Farmer both were redshirt juniors who had one more year of eligibility, but both participated in Senior Day festivities last weekend before the season finale against Florida. They also played high school football together at Gadsden County High.
