FSU bolstered its 2027 recruiting class Friday morning when Lee County (Ga.) four-star linebacker Gregory Batson announced his pledge to the Seminoles via social media.

“They’ve kept it consistent throughout the whole recruiting process so far compared to other schools,” Batson told Warchant.

A Rivals Industry four-star prospect, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Batson says that even with recent struggles on the field, “it was going to take a lot for me to change my mind” away from FSU.

Mike Norvell and staff were informed of the commitment Thursday night.

“After dinner with my family, I let the linebacker coach (John Papuchis) know,” Batson said. “He was ecstatic and glad. And he told me to call the boss man Norvell. … The whole community was just excited that I was announcing.”

With Batson’s pledge, Florida State stands at five commitments in the 2027 class.
