Georgia has picked up its eighth commitment of the 2025 class. Bo Walker (Cedar Grove; Ellenwood, Ga.) announced Thursday night that he has picked the Bulldogs over a dozen other offers, a list that includes Arkansas, Ole Miss, Nebraska, and Mississippi State.

At 5-foot-8 190 pounds, Walker is rated as a three-star prospect by On3Sports. The On3 Industry ranking, a weighted average that includes all four recruiting services, also views him as a three-star prospect and ranks him No. 453 overall, No. 40 at his position, and No. 50 in the Peach State. A look at his highlights show why Georgia offered late last month and took his commitment a few weeks later.

As a sophomore at Cedar Grove, one of the top programs in the state of Georgia, Walker shared carries and toted the football 61 times for 420 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games. He also caught five passes for 121 yards and a score.

Walker and the Georgia backfield situation

Walker is the second running back committed to Georgia in it’s No. 2-ranked 2025 class. The Bulldogs already have a pledge from four-star prospect Jabree Wallace-Coleman out of Philadelphia. He attends Imhotep Institute, the same high school as current UGA defensive back Tykee Smith.

Georgia has the No. 1-ranked class in 2024 and it contains three running backs. The Bulldogs have five-star Nate Frazier (Mater Dei; Santa Ana, Calif.) in the fold as well as track star Dwight Phillips (Pebblebrook; Marietta, Ga.) They also flipped four-star running back Chauncey Bowens (The Benjamin School; North Palm Beach, Fla.) from Florida this summer.

As many as two running backs could be gone at the end of the 2023 season. Both Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton, the Bulldogs’ two leading rushers this season, are seniors. They’re also able to come back and take advantage of their Super Senior seasons. If those two bounce to the NFL, the Bulldogs will return three scholarship ball carriers in Branson Robinson, Roderick Robinson, and Andrew Paul. Branson Robinson is out for the 2023 season after suffering a torn patellar tendon during preseason camp.
