Georgia has been building the roster for 2025 and beyond in multiple ways over the last week.

We collect a few bags of bones and recap the five biggest storylines of the week of April 22 – April 28. Here are those major storylines.

Georgia leading the charge on the Jaden Rashada sweepstakes (2.0)

Rashada, a former four-star quarterback recruit, jumped into the transfer portal on Friday evening. It wasn’t long before On3’s Pete Nakos was reporting that Georgia was among the programs to watch and the Bulldogs were set to get an official visit in Rashada’s new recruitment.

“Multiple sources now tell On3 that Jaden Rashada will visit Georgia on Monday afternoon. The Bulldogs have been circled as the favorite from the start. He has familiarity with the coaching staff from his high school recruitment, specifically with Brandon Streeter who was previously the offensive coordinator at Clemson,” Nakos wrote.

Rashada was in Athens this week and he didn’t have to leave. He committed to Georgia on Thursday.

Georgia finished spring practice with three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster: Carson Beck, Gunner Stockton and freshman Ryan Puglisi.

The Bulldogs landed four-star commit Ryan Montgomery last week. Rashada will join a four-man battle to replace Carson Beck in 2025. He would also back up to Beck in 2024.

Four-star DL target sets commitment date

Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett will announce his commitment on July 20.

The No. 63 overall prospect in the On3 Rankings has Georgia among his top four. He will take an official visit to Georgia on June 7.

The Bulldogs hold a slight lead over Clemson, who will get the first official visit, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. Georgia has a 49.7 percent chance of landing the four-star defensive lineman.

“Georgia is definitely toward the top,” Garrett told DawgsHQ back on Jan. 10. “I know they develop and put guys in the NFL. They’ve shown that they can develop.”

The four-star plays high school football 15 minutes from Georgia’s campus at Prince Avenue Christian.

Georgia makes a few cuts

There were a few major targets that cut their lists down to a handful of schools Georgia was among them. Here are the names that inched closer to their commitments this week.

DL to watch decommits

Three-star defensive lineman Jeremiah McCloud decommited from Mississippi State last week. McCloud recently added an offer from Georgia.

The Bulldogs are a real contender among others. The Bulldogs have one defensive lineman committed: Stephon Shivers.

Christian Miller jumps into transfer Portal and then jumps out

Miller, a former four-star signee, entered the transfer portal on Wednesday and by Thursday evening he was locked in on remaining at Georgia.
