Elite Georgia QB target Julian Lewis reclassifies to 2025 class

Carrollton (Ga.) four-star quarterback Julian Lewis will be in college a year sooner than expected.

Lewis has made the decision to reclass from the 2026 class to the 2025 class. The former No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 rankings provided DawgsHQ with a statement on his plans.

“Since I was 7 years old one of my goals has been to play D1 football,” Lewis said. “Through hard work and sacrifice that goal has become a reality. I have been blessed to have two good seasons under Coach Joey King and I have confidence that after this coming season, I will be ready to compete at the next level. So after much prayer and talking with my family, coaches and trainers, I will be reclassifying to the class of 2025.”

Lewis committed to the Trojans back on Aug. 22 2023. Lewis has popped up on a few other visits. He made a trip to Georgia back in September. He returned in November. Lewis also visited Alabama on Oct. 14. He visited Ohio State back in November for the first time.

Lewis was named a finalist for Gatorade National player as a sophomore late last week. Lewis improved on a strong freshman year in his sophomore season. He threw for 3,094 yards, collected 48 touchdowns and only threw two interceptions.

Prior to Lewis’ commitment to USC, Georgia was one of the top schools in the running, The Bulldogs had a five-star signal caller committed for much of the summer and fall.

Five-star Dylan Raiola ended up signing with Nebraska. Georgia landed four-star Ryan Puglisi in the class of 2024.

Carson Beck has returned for his redshirt junior season and could be looking toward the NFL after 2024. That could leave an open competition to ensue in 2025.

Georgia was one of Lewis’ first college offers back in his eighth-grade year. Lewis has visited Georgia 12 times.
