Georgia’s commit list is growing again, this time in the form of three-star offensive lineman Malachi Toliver of Cartersville High School.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle becomes Georgia’s eleventh commitment of the Class of 2024, as well as the first on the offensive line.

Currently, he is ranked as the No. 896 overall prospect for the cycle in the On3 Industry Ranking and the No. 67 overall offensive tackle in the class.

Stacy Searels and the Bulldogs entered the race for Toliver earlier this year, and since that time, they’ve been well positioned as the team to beat.

“It’s a dream come true to have an offer from the top team in college football and the next generational team in college football. It is crazy,” Toliver told DawgsHQ following the offer from the Bulldogs. “I’m so thankful to the coaching staff for believing in me and giving me an offer. It’s truly a blessing, and this is what I worked for my whole life.”

The current success in Athens was a key selling point.

“When I think of Georgia, I think of greatness, development, and culture,” Toliver said. “It’s a winning culture, and they develop a lot of great talent there. It’s just a great place to be. It has everything.”

Searels has been a major factor, as well.

“He (Searels) played in northwest Georgia and he loves recruiting out of Georgia,” Toliver said. “He said that they need to recruit people out of Georgia to win Georgia national championships. Also, he said he doesn’t recruit players that he doesn’t feel can make it to the NFL.”

Georgia still on top in the Class of 2024

Currently, the Bulldogs are the nation’s top recruiting class for the cycle with two five-star commits, seven four-star commits, and now two three-star commits having already pledged their services.

Top commits include the nation’s No. 1 cornerback Ellis Robinson and the nation’s No. 1 tight end Landen Thomas.

While Malachi Toliver is the first offensive line commit of this class, the Bulldogs recruited the position quite well in the Class of 2023.

That haul included the likes of five-star offensive tackle Monroe Freeling, four-stars Kelton Smith and Bo Hughley, and three-stars Jamal Meriweather and Joshua Miller.

Georgia will have its work cut out on the offensive front in this cycle, however, with a thinner in-state crop of linemen than last year and a class largely considered down at the position nationwide.
