Georgia continues to push its way back up the Associated Press Poll. The Bulldogs were ranked the No. 9 team in the latest AP Poll released on Sunday.

Ohio State remained the number one team after a win over No. 17 Illinois on the road on Saturday.

Georgia earned a road win over Auburn on Saturday night to move to 5-1 and 3-1 in SEC play. The Bulldogs trailed early 10-0. Auburn was working to make it 17-0 before a Jackson Arnold fumble was recovered on the goal line. That ignited a Georgia run of 20 unanswered points.

Georgia seemed to regain some momentum after that play. Head coach Kirby Smart praised his team’s fight on Saturday night.

“Our kids never quit,” Smart told reporters after the game. “I’m proud of our kids. I’m as proud of this team as I am probably any team ever for the performance. We did not come out and start fast or play well. They outplayed us. They played with momentum, tempo, run game, stopped us from running the ball really in the first half, and frustrating, but the kids never quit. And that’s never been more evident than a punch out on the goal line, which we practice all the time. And Raylen, CJ, whoever did it, it was amazing play that they’re not in until they’re in. That’s our saying, they ain’t in until they’re in. And there were some long faces over there, but the kids did a great job, really an electric atmosphere to play in.”

Georgia will be the host for the top-five-ranked Ole Miss on Saturday. ESPN’s College Gameday is set to spotlight the showdown on Saturday.
