Georgia lands 2025 in-state RB Bo Walker

Georgia recruiting is back on the board, and this time, it’s the Class of 2025 that has seen the ranks expand, with the Dawgs landing the commitment of three-star running back Bo Walker of Ellenwood, Georgia’s Cedar Grove High School.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 453 overall prospect in the junior cycle, Walker becomes Georgia’s eighth commitment of the Class of 2025. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound Walker is also the second ball carrier commitment of the class for the Dawgs, joining four-star Philadelphia-based back Jabree Wallace-Coleman.

Walker just spent last weekend in Athens for Georgia’s dominant performance over Kentucky after having added an offer following the Dawgs’ contest against Ball State. He also attended Georgia’s win over UAB this season, as well.

Following the win over the Blazers, he was clear as to how the Dawgs stacked up, putting them among his top three options to DawgsHQ’s Jeremy Johnson.

“It’s a good fit for me, I feel like that would be home if I decided to go there,” Walker said at that time. “I’m looking at how the scheme throws the ball to running back out of the backfield. I want to go to a school that’s going to help me on and off the field and with life after football.”

Walker is just the latest Georgia recruiting win from Cedar Grove, one of the top teams in the Peach State high school ranks. Names such as former Bulldogs offensive lineman and current Falcons practice squad guard Justin Shaffer, as well as current Dawgs defensive tackle Christen Miller and outside linebacker CJ Madden, have made their way from the ranks of the Saints in recent years.

Bo Walker is currently the No. 33 ranked running back in the Class of 2025.

Bo Walker the latest in Georgia running back recruiting success

While Walker may be the newest add to the commitment list for the Bulldogs, he’s far from the only need-to-know name in the future of the backfield in Athens.

He’s joined by the aforementioned Wallace-Coleman in the 2025 cycle, but in the 2024 cycle, the Dawgs and running backs coach Dell McGee have impressed in a major way.

Currently, they hold the pledges of three backs ranked with the top 200 prospects in the nation per the On3 Industry ranking for 2024 — Santa Ana, California-based Mater Dei product Nate Frazier, Palm Beach Gardens’ Benjamin School’s Chauncey Bowens, and in-state speedster Dwight Phillips of Pebblebrook High School.
