Will Levis passes eye test in throwing workout at NFL Combine

Will Levis was bragging about the cannon attached to his right shoulder on Friday. The Kentucky quarterback put his arm talent on full display at the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday afternoon.
After going through measurements and logging good explosive testing numbers in both the vertical and broad jumps, Levis took the field to complete a throwing workout alongside Max Duggan, Stetson Bennett, Malik Cunningham, and a few more quarterbacks.
The Kentucky product did not disappoint.
During the workout, Levis and the other quarterbacks were asked to make an assortment of throws on air. There were slants, multiple out-route combinations, digs, curls, go balls, and fades to finish the day. The former three-star recruit flashed some of the raw physical traits that everyone is so excited about.
The ball zoomed out of Levis’s hands on the digs. The slants got on the receivers quickly and on time. You could say the same thing about the curls. Levis also got to show off his arm strength with throws being clocked at 59 miles per hour and two impressive passes to Tennessee product Jalin Hyatt on a deep go-route.
The only real problems in the workout were in the short game. When required to throw a short pass to the left, Levis’ footwork gets a little clunky causing the passer to get closed off and throw across his body. That turned into a couple of inaccurate short throws.

That inaccuracy was already shown on tape.
NFL teams know that Levis has some short-to-medium inaccuracy issues. What the workout truly flashed was the toolbox that the Kentucky quarterback owns. The first-round prospect can make every second or third-level throw and can do it with accuracy. The eye test was passed on Saturday afternoon.
At this point, it appears that four quarterbacks will go off the board in the top 10 next month in Kansas City. Will Levis is one of those prospects. All signs point to this being a very successful week for the Kentucky quarterback in Indianapolis.
The workout at Lucas Oil Stadium was confirmation. Levis has a chance to be the highest draft selection of the Mark Stoops era at Kentucky.
