LSU got huge news on Saturday night as New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr wide receiver TaRon Francis committed to the Tigers. Now, On3 moved him into the On300 in the latest 2025 rankings update.

He’s the No. 215 overall prospect, No. 33 wide receiver in the country and No. 6 prospect in Louisiana.

Francis joins five-star Duncanville (Tex.) wide receiver Dakorien Moore in the 2025 class at wide receiver.

“100% Committed to LSU… I’m staying home,” Francis said late Saturday. “Geaux tigers.”

With Francis on board, LSU’s 2025 class now ranks 4th nationally and 3rd in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

LSU was first to offer before Mississippi State, Florida State, Troy, Ole Miss, Michigan, Texas A&M, Florida A&M and Marshall all offered him after.

On3’s Sam Spiegelman caught an early season game of Francis’ and came away impressed with him. The Tigers now have their second wide receiver commit of the 2025 class. He was also a standout at LSU Summer Camp.

“One of the better-known pass-catchers in Louisiana’s 2025 class, the Edna Karr staff wants to make Francis a more consistent threat in the offense,” Spiegelman wrote. “As a sophomore, the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder was a difference-maker stretching the fall and winning jump-balls at a high rate. This pre-season, Francis has shined making contested catches outside the numbers and along the sidelines.”

The Tigers now have a trio of in-state 2025 commitments from New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman offensive lineman Brett Bordelon and Sulphur tight end JD LaFleur. LSU also has 2025 Loganville (Ga.) Grayson defensive back Jaylen Bell in the class.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Francis ranks as the No. 322 overall prospect, No. 50 wideout nationally and No. 12 prospect in Louisiana.
