The LSU football staff has wrapped up the 2024 recruiting cycle with the No. 4 recruiting class on the On3 Rankings.

The Tigers signed 29 prospects as part of the 2024 haul, which includes a trio of On3 five-stars in offensive tackle Weston Davis, defensive tackle Dominick McKinley and tight end Trey’Dez Green.

Two of the five-star additions were flips from Texas A&M, but the Tigers didn’t stop there.

In total, 11 of LSU’s 29 signees flipped from another college program. Here’s the rundown on the additions, as well as a look back at who parted ways with the Tigers.

LSU flips commitments from the SEC, ACC and more

One theme for LSU in the 2024 class became flips. The Tigers inked 29 prospects, and 10 were flips from either SEC or ACC programs.

While Terry Bussey stuck with his pledge to Texas A&M, the Tigers flipped four Aggies commitments during the cycle – and all four players suit up in the trenches.

LSU flipped five-star offensive tackle Weston Davis and four-star offensive lineman Coen Echols from the Aggies, then flipped a pair of Louisiana defensive linemen who were once TAMU commits in five-star defensive tackle Dominick McKinley and four-star defensive lineman Gabriel Reliford.

LSU also flipped another elite defensive lineman in four-star EDGE rusher CJ Jackson, who backed off his verbal pledge to Georgia Tech and got on board with the Tigers.

The LSU staff also flipped two Ole Miss commitments in Louisiana offensive lineman Joseph Cryer and cornerback Bernard Causey, and LSU flipped one-time Mississippi State commitment PJ Woodland in October.

Just days after landing an LSU offer in 2022, four-star linebacker Xavier Atkins backed off his Missouri commitment – where he was committed to defensive coordinator Blake Baker, who now holds the same position at LSU. Louisiana defensive lineman Ahmad Breaux was committed to Duke before landing an LSU offer and flipping to the Tigers, while Ju’Juan Johnson – the state’s all-time leader in total yards and total touchdowns – was once committed to Colorado and Deion Sanders before backing off the verbal pledge and committing to LSU, where he became one of the top recruiters for the Tigers.

Who flipped away?

Between flips and mutual parting of ways, the Tigers had a handful of one-time commits sign elsewhere.

On offense, that included three-star tight end Tayvion Galloway and three-star receiver Joseph Stone. Galloway signed with Purdue, while Stone landed in Louisville’s class.

On defense, four-star cornerbacks Ondre Evans and Cai Bates and three-star cornerback Zion Ferguson were all once committed to LSU, then flipped their commitments elsewhere. Evans landed at Georgia and Bates landed at Florida State, while Ferguson inked with North Carolina. Three-star safety Maurice Williams, one of LSU’s earliest commitments, signed with Houston.
