With the most recent wave of updates to the On3 Top 300, there was plenty of shuffling to recruits at all positions.

As the calendar turns to the month of October, the LSU football staff holds a pair of offensive tackle commitments who are both ranked inside the Top 10 at the position.

Neville High (La.) senior Zalance Heard carries a five-star rating as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country. St. Augustine (La.) senior Tyree Adams is ranked as a four-star and the No. 10 offensive tackle prospect in the class.

Heard committed to LSU on September 1, while Adams got on board with the Tigers on July 29.

The pair are part of an LSU football commitment list that is ranked by the On3 Consensus Team Rankings as the No. 6 class in the 2023 cycle. Heard and Adams are two of nine Louisiana commitments in for the staff, with the Tigers sitting on 22 total verbal commits.

The On3 Scouting Reports

Zalance Heard

6-5.5, 305 pounds

“Physically-gifted offensive tackle prospect with outstanding length and block-finishing skills. Has prototypical size at the position, measuring 6-foot-5.5, 295 pounds as a junior. Possesses elite length, with his arms checking in at 36 inches on college visits. Began his career as a defensive lineman prior to transferring to northeast Louisiana power Neville High. Played exclusively at right tackle as a junior and looks to have the highest upside at offensive tackle. His defensive lineman athleticism shows up by way of advanced movement skills, particularly in the run game where he’s a mauling presence. Already a dominant drive blocker in his first full season playing offensive line. Has natural upper body strength to go with his length and athleticism. Is a bit high-hipped and will need to continue playing lower. Needs to continue developing his pass set technique as he gains experience at the position.”

Tyree Adams

6-5.5, 283 pounds

“Patient and powerful offensive line prospect that possesses a developmental, all-around skillset. Measures in around 6-foot-5 and weighs close to 285 pounds with a 10-inch hand and 6-foot-8 wingspan. Will add necessary weight throughout his frame with ease in order to excel in college. Has a clean kick slide in pass protection. Shoots his hands and locks on once engaged in running and passing game. Explosiveness jumps off the tape as well as his ability to stay square and balanced. Jumped a 28-inch vertical and ran an electronically-timed 7.63 3-cone this spring heading into his senior season. Has considerable upside due to movement skills combined with his build. Fine tuning by collegiate coaching could send his stock through the roof. One the younger end of the spectrum for the 2023 class.”
