Big news hit on Monday with one of the nation’s best prepared to make a commitment. Mount Miguel (Calif.) cornerback Brandon Arrington will make his decision this Thursday with Oregon and Texas A&M as his finalists.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder is the No. 9 ranked player overall in the On3 Industry Rankings. Arrington is the No. 1 ranked cornerback in the country. It’s going to be a big get for the Ducks or Aggies.

With that news making the rounds, On3’s Josh Newberg had Arrington on for a quick interview about this latest development. You can read his top quotes below or watch the full video included at the bottom.

On His Final Two:

“Just them recruiting me hard since the beginning of my sophomore year. Them and Texas A&M recruiting me hard. I’ve been there (A&M) almost 10 times. Oregon I just like the connection we have, coach Hamp, coach Wadood, coach Lanning. Texas A&M, coach Elko, defensive guy.”

On Oregon’s Spring Game:

“Just a lot of young guys out there. Dakorien Moore, Na’eem Offord, just all the young guys showing, putting them out there on TV and stuff like that. That really showed a lot to me.”

On Texas A&M:

“Just the way everything is. They have great facilities, people around them. They’re going to be great in a few. Coach Elko just his first year last year. He’s going to do some great things at A&M and College Station.”

On Eliminating USC:

“You see what’s going on with them right now. They have a lot of corners right now.”

On Eliminating Bama:

“It was great. I felt the love and stuff like that. I felt everything. Just that connection with the Cali DB’s. I just felt like Oregon Texas A&M did a better job recruiting me. Better fit for me. Just better connections.”

On Key Factors in Decision:

“Development, connection with the coaches. Those guys, I have great connections with them. I can see myself there.”

On NIL Impact:

“I don’t talk about that at all. I just want to go there and play ball. I just want to achieve my dream and my goal. That’s all I’m really thinking about.”

On who he leans on through the process:

“My big brother, my dad and my mom. Even some friends around me.”

On Track:

“Track will be a factor but football is my main focus.”
