Purdue lands commitment from 2027 three-star wide receiver

Purdue football picked up the first addition to its 2027 recruiting class, netting a commitment from 2027 Bastrop (Tx.) wide receiver Dallas Crescenzo.
Crescenzo was just on campus for the Boilermakers’ matchup against Illinois on October 4th and quickly pledged to Barry Odom and Purdue on the heels of that trip to West Lafayette. The Texas pass catcher chose the Boilermakers over offers from Florida State, TCU, Arizona State, Pittsburgh, UCLA, Cincinnati, Maryland, West Virginia, UConn, Tulane and several other Group of Five programs.
Prior to making his decision Crescenzo shared that his fit in an offensive scheme and ability to be developed were atop his wishlist in a potential destination.
“Definitely what offensive scheme is going to be best for me, on top of what’s preparing me for the next level the most. Because, I mean, at the end of the day, I want to play past college, so whatever will help me prepare for the next level,” Crescenzo said.
After seeing the Purdue offense up close and personal, he saw a seamless fit with what offensive coordinator Josh Henson and the Boilermakers wanted to do with his skillset.

“I think for me, being able to use me it’s like everywhere on the field is gonna like that helps me fit into their scheme, whether it’s just singling up on the outside, working in the slot. So I think being in that offensive scheme would be good for me,” Crescenzo said.
Crescenzo is a burner that can play outside or in the slot. The 6-foot pass catcher mixes precise route running with a 10.83 time in the 100-meter dash, that has made him a matchup nightmare at the high school level. He is not just a straight line sprinter, however. Crescenzo is shifty when he gets the ball in space, with the ability to make defenders whiff.
In six games as a junior, Crescenzo had racked up 29 catches for 660 yards and seven touchdowns, as well as 212 yards as a kick returner for Bastrop.
Crescenzo gives Purdue its first commitment in the 2027 haul, and an intriguing one to build on as Barry Odom and company look to build the class.
