Palmetto (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney three-star wide receiver Zy’marion Lang announced a pledge to South Carolina Sunday, choosing the Gamecocks over finalists Pitt, USF and Kansas State.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound class of 2024 prospect is the No. 568 overall player in the Class of 2024, per the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 92 WR and No. 77 player from Florida in the cycle.

On3 lists Lang as the No. 92 receiver in his class.

South Carolina recruited Lang as both a wide receiver and defensive back but he is expected to start his career on the offensive side of the ball.

He was recruited to the Gamecocks by defensive backs coach Torrian Gray and wide receivers coach Justin Stepp.

Pitt likely finished second in the race as Lang took an official visit there during the process.

He has not yet used his OV to Columbia but has taken multiple unofficials and will use his official visit in the fall.

Lang spent last season at Palmetto High but will play for Cardinal Mooney this year. He snatched 28 catches for 470 yards and five touchdowns as a junior this past season.

Lang is the No. 14 commitment to the Gamecocks’ 2024 class and second wide receiver pledge joining Greenville (S.C.) four-star wide receiver Mazeo Bennett.

Several more South Carolina targets are expected to come off the board soon with four-star wide receiver Jonathan Paylor will announce on Aug. 4, four-star ATH Jalewis Solomon on Aug. 5, and four-star RB Daniel Hill on Aug. 23. Five-star EDGE Dylan Stewart is also expected to announce a commitment in the next couple of months.
